Has Josh Martin just decided to be a Gopher?!

Seattle (Wa) PF Josh Martin tells me he will announce his decision today via twitter. Also, stop sending messages to Josh via twitter, even if he does commit to the U today. It's a NCAA violation if you've ever bought a ticket or shirt.

I think this is a really good sign we'll get Josh today, if there was any doubt. If it was Pitt I'd think he would have committed over the weekend instead of waiting for today.

I won't touch the great Twitter debate.

So let's all make twitter accounts posing as Wisconsin fans to get them in trouble with the NCAA ...

Exactly, what's to stop me from going to a page like this: http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/wis/genrel/auto_pdf/hall-of-fame-club-05.pdf and creating a few twitter accounts with names off that list, with pictures I can find of random UW fans and then post at recruits? Now, I'm not Pantherhawk and I value my time more than that, but as you can see, there is no way the NCAA could ever prove that someone is truly a fan or just a pantherhawk.

You'd be helping Wisconsin more than hurting them. It's not like these secondary violations would result in a loss of scholarships.

Then what does it do and why is it an issue? If you x secondary violations do you get a hand slap?

Truly curious here, not trying to argue just to argue.

I wonder why ESPN took a complete nosedive on this kid? From 4* to 2*? Makes no sense. You almost have to wonder if they simply dropped him because his offer list isn't that great.

They might limit the days an assistant coach can recruit or something to that effect for a secondary violation. It's not a rule we need to break to win, and if we did need it, maybe we should push to change the rule rather than just breaking it.

I keep checking back for updates on Martin and none of this is related to the thread topic. Please start your own thread.

Minnesota, Pittsburg, Florida State, OK State, Gonzaga, and Washington isn't a bad offer list in IMO. Better than a 2-star prospect would have at this point I would think.

It is bizarre. I find it hard to believe that the Gophers, FSU and Pitt would fight over a "2*" player.

I agree, it's not bad at all. I shouldn't have said it the way I said it. It just seems like because he doesn't have that elite offer that ESPN might have cooled on him? Just doesn't make any sense to me. Quite frankly, at worst he's a fringe 150 3*.

It's directly related. As others said, check his Twitter (yes, it's related and relevant).

I thought the same thing. There are quite a few people on their list with less impressive offer lists than that.

I know how people feel about the crystal ball, but FWIW

3-star Josh Martin announcing today between FSU, Minnesota & Pittsburgh. #Crystalball is 100% Minnesota. http://t.co/2Mdsx1xwg3
— Jerry Meyer (@jerrymeyer247) September 30, 2013

FWIW, Heard that he is calling the coaches after school today and then will announce via twitter. (This would make it around 4-5 pm our time). Of course, he could end up announcing in the next 5 minutes. But that is what I have heard

Per Ryan James, Martin has said he will announce after school, so probably around 4-5 CT.

Edit: GoldyForLife just beat me to it

Really hopeful for this one - let's grab Martin and get the ball rolling!

There's your answer, plain as day

Seems like a good player in a position of great need. Cross your fingers.

Played for a 3-15 AAU team . 7ppg 6 boards, 49% from the line season average. Pretty much 2-3 star numbers for a lower class team. VS Reid travis he had 7 pts and 3 rebounds while Travis went for 28 and 12.

Exactly why we wouldn't stop pursuing Reid.

Pitt fan reactions are a little entertaining. But that might make me a *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# thinking so.
