NW never should have been considered a tourney team, let's hope the committee realizes that after this loss.

Regardless of what happens from here on - this was a big win. Young guys playing clutch and tough. Hollins, Hollins and Elliason -two frosh and a Soph with really nice games. Nice, nice win to build on.
 






We have just clubbed to death the cute little seal that is Northwestern. In slow motion. In front of everyone. No one was pulling for us today. Northwestern would have been a great story that makes you warm and fuzzy, everyone loves the ” never been to the tourney” angle but…we beat the little seal to death on national TV. Let’s go get Michigan.
 



Overall, I wasn't utterly disgusted with most of Tubby's coaching. He adjusted well throughout the game, and made fairly wise substitutions. He probably stayed in the 2-3 a bit too long, but he stuck with the man for the remainder of the game which is our strength. AND he kept Mav off the floor for the most part. And I hate to say it, but I would be okay if Ralph was hurt for tomorrow's game too. Good win!

Funny! The announcers became very somber when it was evident the Gophers were going to win. Survival of the fittest. Baby seal meat is very juicy, sear it and add a nice sauce. Yummy.
 


Does this get the fighting tubby's into the NIT? Because that is something to be proud of...

Rodney took Shurna out of the game in the overtime, great defense, Austin Hollins made some big plays down the stretch. Michigan is a big game, I think they are in the NIT now but a win over Michigan will really help extend the confidence, a run in the NIT would be a good introduction into next year.
 

Good win as the Hollins' were both huge...frustrating watching Rodney not dominate more...at times he was guarded by 5-10 and 6-2 guards and didn't take them to the basket...Michigan will be tough but we have an advantage of having a game a game under our belt. They might come out rusty...

whose to say they can't win the Big Ten Tournament and get in the big dance?
 

Not bad, not bad, not bad! The Gophers dump a team with a first team all conference, third team all conference, all freshmen team. Man I am happy!

Tubby being interviewed by Dan Dakich on the floor after the game, said "thanks Dave" - loved it. Tubby seemed out of it - but let's give him a break - he had a lot on his mind after that game ...
 

Not to be a eternal pessimist, but I hope Dre can improve on his vision and passing skills...he has a chance to be our best guard since Bobby J.

Actually, Tubby probably got wind of Dakich calling Joe Coleman Dan Coleman a bunch of times and was getting him back.

I'm more of a realist than the ultimate optimist, that would be great, I don't see it though. Four games like that from Andre Hollins and they have a chance.
