Dre is off to a good start! 10-5 good guys early.
 


Wonderful start and then, wow, North freaking Western comes back and starts kicking the crap out of Minnesota. This is exactly why I hate watching this particular team. I have such resent for Tubby Smith and his recruits. Pathetic. Yes, the sky is falling.
 

Do whatever you can to get Dre open. My goodness he's lighting it up.
 

Sixteen points in 12 minutes, yeah, I'd say that's lighting it up pretty good. Holy cow.
 


And he hasn't played since. Genius. Gotta get Mav his minutes.
 

As many times as the Gophers have seen the 1-3-1 it amazes me that they attack it like it was poison ivy.

Uff-da. I'm not sure I've ever watched a game online (can't get home) with the sound off before. Just shut up. He makes a post-coaching living at this?
 



Hollins went out 3 TV timeouts ago. Minute and a half left in the half and Mav is still in. Seriously, WTF?
 

Well, two-point game at half. Could've been better w/ the start, but could've been worse had we not hit some late shots. Need to defend the outside better, hang onto the ball better, and keep hitting shots in the 2nd half.

Didn't know he had fouls. Stupid me. Still drives me nuts because I don't think it would have been too much different either way.
 




The half time guy Carl Ravich just said "Nothwestern is being tested"....insult...Ouch!!
 

Someone needs to lay a hard foul on Opie. You can't let him pop that gay shot of his.

Good to see RW hit the shot an the end of the half-he needs to attack the basket like he can in the second half.

I thought the same thing. I thought I heard them say nw is 1 and 10 against the RPI top 50.
 

So Much wrong with this team

This team is so messed up and it starts with Tubby.

This was not a bad half- we are okay. NW made 9 threes shooting 50% from there so being behind 2 is not terrible. A few too many turnovers and very little near the bucket so far - but we are fine.
 

People Dre has 2 fouls and thats why he hasnt been in. Not tough to figure out.

Yep. Only one top 50 win (vs MSU) but no real bad losses either. Worst loss was to the Gophers, RPI-wise, and I think we're still a top 100 team.

Tubby never plays anyone with 2 fouls in the first half...

More troubling is Tubby's insistence to stick with a zone that is allowing wide open 3's every trip down the court...why can't we man up NW???
 

Why is Tubby staying with the zone. I hope he uses man and the matchup for a changeup.

Because Eliason cant man up anyone vs the cats. I would like to see Oto, Rodney, Hollins, Hollins and Welch out there most of the 2nd half
 

Glad to see the man defense. That 2-3 was definitely killing us. Now we just have to stop committing dumb fouls and allowing such easy looks for them..
 

Love the man D. Let's shut down the 3 and win this game. Shut down the 3 and we win.

In a pickup game I think Calhoun is the type of player you would get in a spat with
 


Gonna need more from Rodney inside because it looks like they adjusted their defense to lean towards Hollins more.
