Gophers vs. UNLV on TV

The game shows up correctly on the Comcast channel guide.

So, I have DirecTV and this morning I wanted to set my DVR for the opener just in case there was some emergency that pops up that would prevent me from watching. I went to CBSSports network, channel 613 and as of now they are not showing the Gophers game as being on at 10pm on Thursday the 30th. Its some PBR Highlight Show crap. Should we be worried? Do I have a piece of info incorrect? Or are we just too far out for the guide to be reliable??

Me too. I'm having a mini panic attack.

How bout a lawn chair viewing from the field with the jumbo tron at 'the bank'?

I have directv and we are just too far out for the Guide. it will be correct in a week and it will show the Gophers game on it.

Comcast is charging $10 to add this channel.
Why doesn't the BTN pick this game up?
Where are the local affiliates in all this???

In the past I have added channels to Comcast for just a few days - a couple of days before the game just to make sure they haven't screwed up the package and given me Oxygen instead of CBS sports. I cancel the package after the game and in the past they have pro-rated the package so it just costs me a few bucks. It seems like I do this every year for some game or another and about half of the time I wind up keeping the package for the football season - that what they count on I guess.

Ok success! Got the channel added to my DTV package.

Stroke the post! A week from Thursday.....IT...IS...ON!

2thousand students show up for live games, why in the world would they show one on a big TV?

I'm hoping for a stream of some sort. Going to a bar would be a last resort. I like to hear the commentary and not just see captions. I'm weird like that.

I'm the same way. I would only watch a game at a bar as a last resort.

Besides I control the pause and slow motion buttons at home.

That's baloney, 19. You know your wife controls everything!

Sally's had the commentary overhead for the USC game last year and I'm sure they will for games this year too

Is Sally's the best place to go for this situation? I just turned 21 so I haven't been able to get to all the bars around the U.

Sally's works just fine. Stub and Herb's have really crappy t.v.'s, so they pretty much suck imo. Blarney's is decent for game viewing. Those are the only bars in Dinkytown that I have experienced for watching a game.

I ordered the sports package from Comcast two years ago to get ESPNU so I could watch the Middle Ten St. game. Still have it, not too bad a price since it has the Fox Sports channels and I was able to watch Gopher hockey when FSN aired something else plus MLB, NFL, and NHL networks. CBS sports is channel 735 on the digital box. FYI

Not at my place. I control all electrical objects, water, heat and AC. Also everything taken into and out of.

OK, I think I got it now, 19. You rule the roost, therefore you are the rooster. Your wife rules the rooster. When Mama is happy, everyone is happy. :)

Is that legal?

Anyways, if nobody gets in trouble, and somebody finds one. I'd like to know. I am in Beijing and have no chance of seeing the game by any other means.

I don't know about the legality of streaming, but the only one who would get in trouble is the person actually running the stream. A stream might be hard to come by because of the weird channel. Somebody in Vegas might just be bored enough to set one up. I'll post a link here if I find one on game day.

In regards to streaming, I've pretty much always been able to find what I want to watch on firstrowsports.eu. They've had to change the url several times in order to stay out of trouble, but I believe that's where it's now hosted. Terribly annoying popups and ads, but I've managed to watch a bunch of UFC fights for free over the past few years.

Regarding Comcast, if anyone is interested in adding the Sports Entertainment Package, they're currently running a special that prices it at $4.95/mo for the next 6 months--just long enough for football and much of the basketball season :) I discovered this on their (horribly designed) website by clicking "SPorts" under the "What's On" heading WAAAY on the bottom of their website in tiny print.
