Didn't really see a thread specifically talking about the upcoming game, so I made one.

I don't think I've been looking forward to a game this much in as long as I can remember, biggest game in TCF Bank Stadium history.

We will need to lots of work on our run defense. I don't think we've faced a team anywhere near as good at running the ball as Wisconsin yet.

One crazy stat that I saw: Gophers and Badgers both have 4 conference wins this season. Combined record of the teams we have beat - Gophers: 8-12, Badgers: 3-18

Take that for what you will.

Go Gophers!

Similarly, here's the total net scoring in conference play:

Gophers: -14
Badgers: +79

Minnesota is 4-2 with four close wins and two blowout losses.

Wisconsin is 4-1 with four blowout wins and one close loss.

Not much to take away from it I guess, other than the crappy teams in the Leaders division are REALLY crappy, while the Legends teams are all pretty even.

According to the Transitive Property, the Gophers are clearly better than Alabama.

Minnesota beat Nebraska 34 - 23
Nebraska beat Michigan 17 - 13
Michigan beat Notre Dame 41 - 30
Notre Dame beat Arizona St 37 - 34
Arizona St beat Utah 20 - 19
Utah beat Stanford 27 - 21
Stanford beat Oregon 26 - 20
Oregon is better than Alabama because Oregon beat Tennessee 59 - 14 while Alabama only beat Tennessee 45 - 10

You're starting to sound like a Bison fan....

This implies that our 14 point win over Penn State was a close win and our 16 point loss to Iowa was a blowout. I feel like some people, Gopher fans included, overplay the margin of victory Iowa beat us by. I watched the game and I would agree that it really seemed like we were spinning our wheels for a majority of the game, but 16 points is still only two possessions.

That's what I've been thinking too. A lot of the Wisconsin fans say that Iowa came to TCF Bank and absolutely destroyed us. 23-7 isn't really a blow out...

Would love to get my first win against the hometown team since I first decided to go to the U. Never thought it would take this long.

That total yardage was 464 - 165, with rushing yards 246 - 30. That's a blowout.

No way. It's too complicated to come from a Bison fan. It's more like this, "we've won just as many games as Alabama, therefore we're just as good."

Simple logic.

Nelson missed an open receiver for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. One bad play away from being a one score game. Not a blowout.

Iowa definitely outplayed us considerably, they just didn't put it in the end zone very often. Whether you call it a blowout or not, we got outplayed big time that day.

We were outplayed, but we could have woken up with 6 minutes left in the game and made a comeback by scoring twice. Of course there is a big difference between could have and did.

Time to give Beau Allen and Brendan Kelly a taste of what this rivalry will look like for the years to come.

A key will be our safeties and CBs will have to tackle well to keep the plays where the RBs break through the line from being long TD runs. They will score but make them work for it and increase chances for penalties and turnovers. They break several long ones for TDs we will have problems.

We should know the starting time and TV network for the 11/23/13 Wisconsin game either today or six days ahead of game day.

Per Matt Sarz, a college sports TV guru, so far the Illinois at Purdue game has been slated for 11:00 AM CT on BTN.

Meanwhile he has word that the Northwestern at Michigan State is a six day hold for either 11:00 AM CT on ESPN or BTN or at 2:30 PM CT on ABC, ESPN or BTN. The Wisconsin at Minnesota game may fall into the same six day hold category with the concerned parties wanting to see how the 11/16/13 games turn out before making choices. It could also be announced today. Time will tell.

No question we were out-played by Iowa. Though, if Wisconsin thinks they're seeing the same team that was on the field that day, they will be in for a shock. The stats don't look good for the Gophers in the game, but I would suggest they probably haven't for the last few weeks.

Wisconsin may win the game by three tds, but they had better not think they WILL. To me, the key is if the defensive backfield can cover and allow us to bring 8 guys up to stop that huge running game of theirs.

Badger Football tweeted that TV and times for all B1G games will be announced after this coming weekend. So we won't know until probably next Sunday what the kickoff time/TV coverage will be.

I would like to see us play with 4 DL's and 4 LB's against some of their offensive sets. (Campbell and Hill really allow for some flexibility playing run and pass.) I'm afraid that if we don't, we will get outflanked with some of their unbalanced sets and get worked as Wisky has created an extra gap.

Fundamentals will be very important in this game, which is why I'm happy we have this bye week and the coaches are stressing those in practice this week.

It's not all games on a six day hold, just five. Illinois at Purdue is still set for the 11:00 AM spot on BTN.

Realistically - for those that follow how this is done - what is our most likely time slot or is it a toss up? Often folks think "better teams/game = 2:30", but it often doesn't work that way.

An interesting tidbit: Neither team in this rivalry has ever won ten in a row. Wisconsin has won the last nine.

I am far from an expert on this sort of thing. Looking at the five games still undecided for timeslots (Wisconsin at Minnesota, Michigan State at Northwestern, Nebraska at Penn State, Indiana at Ohio State, and Michigan at Iowa), our game looks like the most attractive on the balance of the two teams. If you're looking at a single team, then Ohio State is hard to turn down and Michigan State is gaining momentum.

The best realistic help we can get for obtaining the late afternoon timeslot is the Badgers beating Indiana this weekend. Wisconsin is #17 with the writers and #20 with the coaches. A win would lift them, especially considering that one or more teams ranked above them will likely fall. Unless the out of sight, out of mind theory sets in on the bye week, the Gophers ought to at least hold the #25 spot in the coaches poll and break into the writers poll. That would make ours the only game in the Big Team featuring two ranked teams.

The drawback is with Ohio State is unbeaten in Big Ten play and unlikely to lose this coming weekend. Michigan State, playing at Nebraska, could lose, but is going to be favored. That would mean the Gophers and Badgers would likely be a game between ranked rivals, but neither team would have a shot at first place in their divisions (Ohio State beat Wisconsin and has the advantage if they tie for first). I think we get the 2:30 ABC spot, but it isn't a lock.
