Way to go Gophers! That was fun! Huge plays on D and clutch hitting bottom of the order.

Have to admit, very good thing their batter stepped outside the box because that looked like a lot of trouble.

I might be wrong here, but didn't you state the Gophers were on track for a WCWS berth sometime in the near future after last season's loss to Washington in Seattle? Again, I might be wrong (just say yes, I'm trying to give you soothsayer cred!). ;)

Anyway, couldn't be happier for this group of players, especially the seniors!!! They've had to endure a lot in their careers (most of it out of their control) but stuck together and are now headed to OKC!

A great day indeed!!!!

Allie Arneson has been stoic her whole time here. And for the last three weeks she has been smiling and leading the cheers more than she did for all her three years. Maybe that's why her bat came through so much :p But I always had faith in her bat.

Her interview after the game on KFAN was one of the funnest interviews ewer, she was so excited!

I muted ESPN both days and listened to Erika Smyth (thanks Mike Grimm and KFAN). Erika is amazing. She did a great job doing color again both yesterday and today just like she did during the season when she got the chance. It sounds like she may have the same role in OKC if KFAN makes the journey.

It seems typical of so much in life that a moment like this comes when we least expect it. Back in February and March there were moments when the WCWS seemed a distant dream for the 2019 team. A great tribute to teamwork, belief, and purposeful coaching. The tough RPI paid huge dividends!

Insightful post. This team has grown since the beginning of the year. Replacing 5 or 6 bats in the lineup was no small feat. That bottom of the order accounting for major clutch hitting and scoring in the NCAAs showed some of that growth.

Anybody notice the hats. The Gophers were given hats that said OHC Bound. Except the accepted accronym for Oklahoma City is OKC. Do we just have idiots in the marketing department or am I missing something?

Well I'm watching the press conference, and it appears that might be a "K", it just looks very much like an "H". No conspiracy here...

I did see that- was trying to figure out wtf it stood for and how anyone could make that gaffe. Unbelievable.

I saw other teams with same ones as well and it definitely is a weird looking K. All teams that advance must get the same ones so the design probably comes from someone with the NCAA.

I'm hoping the Gophs open play with this uniform combo. Love the block GOPHERS logo on white with the old-school gopher emblem on the helmet. It doesn't get better.

I actually like the white helmets over the full-on maroon uni. The white is really in with the young softball crowd now. For me, it's the anthracite they could leave home! (yeah, I'm in the minority on that one)

I absolutely did, and as stated earlier this wasn't a gift, but rather earned! You are one of the top teams in the country this year, again, & I I'm happy you were able to make the statement... "Scoreboard" to quiet any naysayers!

Now it typically gets tougher though... but can be anyone's Tourney as anyone can win it all at this level. Nobody is "unbeatable"! Typically it takes a pitcher who doesn't make mistakes, a defense that backs her up, & enough offense to bring it home. While a team can win it after an early loss, it sure does make it tough though...
