it wouldn't surprise me if they end up being a big player in the CHL. Have shown they're a desirable place (would assume they must be throwing some NIL money at their hockey players) and success with Canadian hockey players.

With no first rounders in the entire pipeline, including the freshmen class that came in this year, and the risk that 3 or even all 4 first rounders leave next spring, that would be bad news if Michigan starts piling those types of kids on.

I think this year is the end of a title contender window for Motzko. Just like 2014-15 was for Lucia.

Get it done.

Foreigners can't get NIL money due to visa restrictions.

I’m meaning their current players so it will look attractive to guys going on recruiting trips and that they have track record with someone like Fantilli

Another rumor out there now that Dupont visited DU and will commit there. From an untrusted source, but it would be nice for the Gophers to be part of a fun BS rumor for once.

Hearing Michael Misa and Boston University have a framework in place for him to play there next season. It'll be interesting to see how NCAA teams handle finalizing and announcing commitments with regard to CHL seasons.

Oh, my, dear, God. There is now a rumor out there of Misa and Minnesota in the same paragraph.

This feels like there are too many good things happening at once, but this would be a massive get. Zero reason we shouldn’t be a huge destination place

Unfortunately now if he ends up at another school it hurts more than the ones where Minnesota was never heard to be in the conversation. So now, we wait. This is a top 5 draft pick that could also potentially go straight to the NHL. But if you get him, it's a guy that singlehandedly boosts ticket sales.

I wonder if a package deal with his brother is an angle the teams are taking. Motzko should be offering it.

14 forwards
Lost Michel, Nevers, Huglen, Snuggerud, Wood/Moore (~5)
Add 6 or maybe even 7

Mooney
Moore
Townsend
Kvasnicka
Misa
Misa
Nevers (or delay again or cut ties)

Yeah the Misa brothers is an offer you make if that’s what it means.

Is the brother any good?
Yes, better than Nevers, Townsend, obviously Reid and probably a bigger impact next year than Moore, Kvasnicka, and probably Mooney.

Both brothers may be one and done, but you make that work if you want to win titles.

Reminds of when one of my old teammates made sports center for taking out a mascot.

That's awesome. I'll bet your buddy was never recruited by Michigan though. The staff there would have recommended a full two-handed chop to the back of the knees. Gotta try to put that mascot down for the rest of the season...

I'm not sure there's enough fraud that could be done to get him into school. Mainly why the gophers didn't recruit him, he had a nice run in the Dub though, lead Kelowna to the Memorial Cup final before getting shelled by Windsor

2026 top draft prospect Ivar Stenberg to BU as the rich get richer

Kam Hendrickson on the move in the USHL after a great start. Should be on the move to the U in the fall

Still is very odd to me he’s ending up at UCONN. To me he’d be a real solid guy to bring in and compete with Airey for next year, but maybe he wants more time promised? Though looks like UConn is all underclassmen for the current goalies so who really knows as with goalies it’s hard to know when they’re going to come in

Contrary to what bonin would have you believe, he’s going to UCONN because he isn’t that special. If he wasn’t from Minnesota nobody around here would give a damn where he’s going to college.

Okay let's watch what he becomes as a college goalie. They definitely biffed it not going after Slukynsky...

Want to talk about not special? Look at the current goalies. And then look at the goalie pipeline. Oh wait there is none.

Are we waiting and seeing on Hendrickson or are we declaring it a huge miss by Bob? Make up your mind man.

Id say it’s more that we have no goalie commits with souliere out next year. He’s 2nd in sv% in the ushl as well with good size.

I'm saying it's a miss. You're saying it's not. The verdict won't be determined until like 3+ years from now, and that's why I said we wait and see.

# of recruits since 8/1:
MSU: 10
PSU: 9 (including 1 CHL)
uw: 7 (including 2 CHL)
Notre Dame: 6 (including 2 CHL)
OSU: 6 (including 1 CHL)
Michigan: 4 (counting Valentini who somehow committed a month early)
UMN: 1

Putting all my hopes in the MisaX2 basket at this point. Mooney has had a bad year and is definitely not Cooley 2.0. We need a high end player for that class.

Hard to know what to say with Mooney with the injury but a ppg before he went out is not “bad”. We’ll see how he finishes the year. But yea they definitely need additional high end talent
