Gopher Football APR

Golden Gopher Football = Legitimate COLLEGE Football.

OK, teams lose scholarships if the APR goes down to a certain point. How about adding a scholie when it reaches some exceptionally high level? Don't just punish poor performance, but reward desired behaviors. Just a thought...

Did someone pee in GW's Wheaties again?! Relax, man! Life's not so bad!

trying to compare and draw conclusions from two different years of information is stupid.

fact check is discussing 2012-13

and these guys are talking 2013-14

time to check blood pressure and start subbing Decafe in

No, they're not talking about 2013-14; they just thought they were (incorrectly).

No chit. Some people on this forum seem to spend their time trying to find the negatives in life.

All I really care about is Marquette Football's APR

So are you a basketball blogger or do you consider yourself a Gopher Football blogger as well? Why are your Gopher Football takes always heavily slanted towards the negative? Where does your hate for Jerry Kill stem from? Does posting links to your blog on this site get you a lot of clicks? As you can see, your strange behavior on this forum fascinates me.

Someone must have been dropped on his head when he was a baby, and came out wired all wrong just to annoy us all on GH. :banghead:

Great thought in my opinion

could see even more cheating if they could get scholarships for grades

You are wrong as thoroughly discussed on GI. I would love to have as much free time as you do; trollling on multiple (GI and GH) fan boards of teams that I am not a fan would probably be number 9999 on my list if I had any free time

Agree 100%. Thinking back to the Barker "controversy" is just mind-boggling. I really can't believe the media gave him the opportunity to legitimize his beliefs. They were banking on him being a whistle blower, but turns out he was just a quack.

AJ is a bright guy but he wouldn't take a knee with the team as the team is requireed to do before every practice and every game. ended up knocking heads with the coach over it - add in he felt it nicked his scholarship and you have disgruntle.

Nope; I'm absolutely correct.

Nope; I'm absolutely correct.

At all times and in all places, or just in this instance?

(Perhaps the occasional admission of being mistaken would reduce the venom that exists for you around here. Though I can't be absolutely positive on that.)

I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again. On this one, though? 0% chance I'm wrong.

Hmm...0% you say?

Yep, When it comes to Gopher Warrior he is truly deluded. The funny thing is that he thinks he knows more than the rest of us. Does the word narcissistic seems to hit the mark?

Guys, GW was hotly contesting the Gopher's 4 year rolling APR, which is (was?) ~963. The single year APR of 994 was what the staff was trumpeting, and he presumed for some reason that the staff was being intentionally misleading of their APR (or something, I really don't understand what his motivation was).

Either way, great job by the team and support staff to pull these kinds of numbers. It's probably more impressive than the on-field turnaround, given where Brewster had it.

Yep. 0%. Was privy to the document circulated by the athletic department.

I assume "privy" in this context is a reflection on the fact that your opinions are worth just about as much as the contents of an outhouse?

I'm not sure why everyone is having so much trouble grasping this issue. The facts are pretty simple:
  • Minnesota Football received a 994 APR for the latest academic year reported, 2013-2014, the third consecutive year with a 994 score.
  • That brings Minnesota Football's APR (a 4-year average, the only score that is used for anything) up from 932 in 2010-2011 to 975 for 2013-2014.
That's it. So far, so good. Every year Kill has been coach (for which numbers have been reported), his teams have brought in a score of 994.

Now, the tweet read:
William Glasscock ‏@BillyGlasscock4 · 53m53 minutes ago
Gopher Football currently holds a 994 APR score. The 4th highest in the country #1 for public universities. "For all the right reasons".

It makes three distinct factual claims:
  • "Current Football APR is 994" - Not true, the current APR (as used by the NCAA) is 975
  • "4th highest in country" - Not true, regardless of whether you use the 4-year score our latest single-year score. Might be true if only counting single-year, FBS schools, but not true as written
  • "#1 [score] for public universities" - Not true, Wisconsin received a 1000 score for the same single-year and has a 998 4-year score (which is the highest in the country)

So, the tweet was wrong, but the truth is still great news (just not as great as the tweet made it sound).

Read all about it.

+1 LOL - That picture says it all when it comes to Gopher Warrior.

Fact Check: does Gopher Football really have the nation's top APR among all public universities? Answer rhymes with "low"

I don't think you're a credible source. You don't have an actual job with an actual newspaper or tv station. Therefore I doubt you have any idea what you're talking about. The only credible thing I know about you is your mom wants you to get a job and move out of her basement.
