GAME #31 SENIOR NIGHT: Gophers (18-12, 7-10) v. PSU (15-15, 6-11) [BTN, 3/9, 4:15PM]

Some bad calls against the Gophers in the first half. I do seriously wonder if the conference is worried that viewers will change the channel at halftime, so they try to keep it close.

I believe it's only when we're behind

xx

Ariel sure likes to go on and on and on .. glad it's halftime.

That's not a factor if you're IU, Wiscy, MSU, Michigan, Illinois, etc. If they're at home, they get all the 50/50 calls. We can't get a mugging as time expires, even against NW.

It's nothing personal. I am in agreement with you in hoping Malik breaks out of the slump. I'm just not seeing him do anything else (rebounding, tough defense, slashing, etc) to make up for his bad shooting. If he wants to continue to get minutes, he has to at least contribute in different areas of the game.

Like Rich pointed out I just think he needs to see a couple shots fall. He plays decent defense but yea hopefully he can pick it up in other areas until his shot starts falling again like Austin did.

Man, Ariel is real difficult to listen to today...

And with a lead like this right now, I think this is a perfect time to get him some shots and try to restore some confidence!

Is there ANY chance we lose this? I would like to exhale.

Walker is unstoppable against PSU's frontline. Hopefully we remember that in the BTT.

I know every game is different... but given our dominance inside, can PSU beat us even 1/10 times? It's not really a knock on them, just a mismatch between these particular teams.

Malik is online. Just needs to get lots of shots.

Malik Smith is not an asset to this team in any way right now.

Lucky we got them in round 1 rather than Illinois or Purdue, or even NW.

All it would take is an injury/foul trouble to Mo and we'd lose our edge inside. EE is not intimidating anyone and King, while putting up a solid effort today, is not much better than any of PSU's bigs.

It's Gopher sports. You know the answer to that question.

That's what I'm afraid of. However, I don't think coach would let them go on a 10-0 run and look like a deer in headlights, ala Tubby last season.

I'd rather have NW. Today aside, I don't think they can beat anyone right now. I'm sad to see OSU beat MSU. That means Iowa will get NW instead of Purdue and likely win and lock their NCAA bid.

I suppose I was thinking injuries aside, foul trouble is a realistic concern that I wasn't projecting. Given that, I still think 2/10 would be tough. I still can't think of a team I'd rather play in the BIG.
