GAME #31 SENIOR NIGHT: Gophers (18-12, 7-10) v. PSU (15-15, 6-11) [BTN, 3/9, 4:15PM]

We have to hold this lead here, not having Dre makes me nervous.

Does everyone have their barf bags ready so they can root on Bucky tonight?

I'd almost rather cheer for Nebraska and ask for an extra win in the BTT by us... but, I'm getting the bar bag.

Mav coming up big on senior day

Yeah he really is. He's playing the role I imagined coming into the season, more SG than PG and not forcing anything. For whatever reason it never really happened until today.

Refs are calling some pretty weak fouls...

His feet were not on the floor when he signal for a timeout watch the replay

I love what Mav's been able to do today, and honestly, I think he is making a case for getting minutes over a massively struggling Smith heading into postseason play.

maybe a little aggressive there but if mav plays within himself he can definitely contribute

McDonald needs to stop trying to guess why Pitino does certain things. He's been waaaaay off. Like Pitino has 3 bench players in because he is "trying to avoid injuries" to his starters. And that he just subbed Malik in for Mav because he wants to extend the lead with Malik's 3pt shooting.

Agree 100%. Smith needs to figure it out soon.

Nah. Why do we have to do this every time someone has a good game?

are the refs watching the game or just doing whatever they feel like?

No Home Cookin' today. In the last minute: blatant over the back on PSU not called. Double dribble on dre that wasn't. And they give PSU a BS time out instead of a 5 second call. Awful.

So 5 seconds doesn't apply unless you're 4 feet away next to half court?

Because Smith has made like 3 of his last 30 threes, is a liability on defense, and hasn't been relevant since Nebraska. Mav hasn't really even gotten an opportunity so far this year.

I heard they were planning a Cancun trip for next weekend, so I wouldn't show up if I were them.

My high school did that. We were in the state tournament, and probably were the best or second team in tue state. However, all the white kids on the team were going to Mexico for spring break, which occurred during the tournament. One player completely skipped the game, the others intentionally tanked so theu could go to Mexico. The non-white players were the best players, seniors, and tried hard. Two of them went Divison One. They were pissed, but the spoiled, rich white kids decided Mexico was more important than the team or the state tournament.

I know, this is the second situation today in which the 5 second rule just doesn't exist in the heads of the referees...

If we win, and we are locked to play PSU, I really hope we don't get lazy in the second half. No need to give PSU a ray of hope going into the BTT.

5 seconds, jump ball, out of bounds....take your pick, refs.

We better come out in the 2nd half focused and ready to close this out. No need to make this uncomfortable.

It's super nice to have Austin get his mojo back in this last stretch of games! We need him at his best going forward, and he's doing a little bit of everything right now.

Despite that foul at the end, I think it's pretty clear Mo is far and away our best center. We need EE to find his groove again.

Oh you mean the Nebraska game when people wanted Malik to start over a struggling Austin Hollins? Maverick isn't playing consistently because he doesn't give us what we need...a second ball handler. He's having a good game on senior night but no need to make changes to the rotation based on one game. Hopefully Malik snaps out of his funk.

Andre H with one shot and 2 fouls.

we're -3 on the boards

only 4 turnovers

It's nothing personal. I am in agreement with you in hoping Malik breaks out of the slump. I'm just not seeing him do anything else (rebounding, tough defense, slashing, etc) to make up for his bad shooting. If he wants to continue to get minutes, he has to at least contribute in different areas of the game.

Would love to see malik get his shoot eye back
