Game #3: Gophers @ Richmond (Internet, 6:00PM)

Richmond is shooting bricks...wonder if their legs are gone?

Great finish to the game Gophers! 15-0 run to take control of the game! Too bad First Row stopped working well for me so I couldn't see much of it. Big Road Win!

Richmond didn't score in the last 7:25 of game...ended with 19-0 MN run. WOW!

Coffee is for closers. Somebody get these Gophers some coffee.

Pitino's system and coaching style is such a refreshing change up to Tubby's. How many times did we close out games like that under Tubby? I feel like more often than not we were the team that didn't score for the final 7 minutes.

The Andres would have been on the bench the rest of the game when they got into foul trouble too.

Mike Ellis trolling Richmond fans? Haha

Got a mental second wind and stopped playing scared. Committing to the zone was probably the key - defended the paint and stopped the interior passing. Great adjustments all around.

Well said!

We have a real coach.

Take away from tonight's game: While we have some of the same problems with the same players (I like the post about certain nameless players going into the fetal position under pressure) the energy of the game has changed with the coach and we can anticipate a different response from the players as a whole.

Westbrook was a much, much better player than Malik, but I get what you are saying.

Very solid win. That's how you close out a game. Now Richmond, go win the A-10!

In all seriousness, Richmond wasn't as impressive as I expected. I think the home court advantage and crowd carried them for a while but they are an awful shooting team.

There's no way they will shoot that bad all year. We caught them on a good night shooting-wise.

Solid road win in a tough environment. Even though its real early in the season I have really liked the way the Gophers have come out scoring and getting things established early on in games. I think this team is just gonna continue to get better, will be nice to get Mo back and add more depth to the interior.

This is a very good win for this team. Now don't stumble before Maui. Did Austin not play up to his ability because of the hand in the eye? Seemed like it.
