Game #3: Gophers @ Richmond (Internet, 6:00PM)

Gotta be happy to be up at half considering all of the foul trouble.

That's home court advantage. Richmond's D seems much more physical so I'm not sure why the huge differential in fouls.

I'm listening to the radio broadcast online, but according to the ESPN live stats the fouls are 13 for Richmond and 12 for Minnesota.

Is this series part of a home and home, or why is this game at Richmond?

I can't really get too upset with the refs, Richmond was actually called for more fouls that half. The refs are adjusting to the rules too, not just the players.

We survived the half despite Mathieu, Austin, and EE not playing much. Those are 3 of our best players. If we start making free throws we'll win.

Was listening to the first half via ESPN1500, then came on here and noticed firstrow has the game now. For those watching, were the Gophers the victims of home cooking in the first half? Grimm/Tollackson were upset with almost every call over the last ~6 minutes of the half. Good to hear Malik Smith get off to a good start, but it's discouraging to lose such a big lead in such a short period of time. A dog fight is probably better for the team long term, but my stress levels prefer a blowout.

I kept watching the clock. At the 5 minute mark I thought we would get blown out. Mav looked clueless and Smith looked like Lawrence Westbrook both the good and the bad. 3 point lead we can live with

Not quite home cooking - their crowd got into it and it seemed to up Richmond's intensity level both on O and D.

Grimm and Tollackson complain about every call...I don't think Gophers have ever committed a foul

I'm sure Grimm/Tollackson were upset with the King block call, but they probably didn't have the best view, his feet were on the line. It was close though.

No, Grimm specifically said that Kings heels were inside the line. They were upset (I think this was the same play) that someone tipped in the ball for offensive goal tending and they counted the bucket.

FT% not the issue. Bad defense (Spiders 2FG% at 50+%) and poor shot selection is.

Don't love sitting guys with 2 fouls in the first half either.. but, Gophers will be back to 'full strength' to start the second.. should help things.

Andre must have taken over at the end of the half to get to the free throw line as he must all year. Good for him to be Voshon Leonard like.

One great stat from the first half...only 2 turnovers. Both committed by Mav.

Pitino called off the press in the last few minutes. They looked a bit tired after the hectic pace.

Anyone watching the stream just see that jewelry commercial? Took me like 5 seconds to realize she wasn't flipping me off hahaha.

Without EE back there, Spiders were driving court-long for easy layups with the Gophers crawled back. So many easy shots for Richmond; so many long shots (25 footers) and ugly (off balance) for Minnesota.

I am waiting for Austin to show up. EE is his usual clutz in the paint. Lets get little Dre more room to operate and get Big Dre going the second half. FT's anyone!!

Playing with no confidence right now. Playing scared. Just need to run the offense and not force things.

When the pressure is on Mav and Oto go into the fetal position. Some things never change.

Oto having a really rough start to the second half

the feed from Richmond is way better than the All Access. Love the backboard cams and replays that actually are the play.
