I don't know about you guys, but first row sports is coming in great tonight for me.
 

Purdue beats Northern Kentucky by 1. Can't wait for BoilerGopher or whatever his name is to tell us again how great Purdue is going to be this year.

I agree. I think Malik will be okay as long as we don't expect too much. I'm guessing he will win 2-3 games coming off the bench, but we really need someone with a more complete game to step up. Malik/Mav/McNeil all have holes in their game. Coach P. will need to do a lot of mixing and matching, going with the hot hand etc.
 


One thing I really like about Pitino is I've seen a mixture of defense. Man to zone to man to zone. He's mixing it up a lot. I always did that when I coached fourth grade basketball and it worked for me.
 






I like Pitino calling a timeout here to stop the 9-0 run. Tubby would have waited until it was a 20 point run.

We never allowed zone defenses thru 8th grade basketball.
 






Offense looks sad in the second half. Turning over the ball a lot.
 

Our press is going to help us get through our inevitable offensive droughts.
 


That fast break bucket was picture perfect.
 

Maybe I spoke too soon. Would like to see them take care of the ball more. If Lehigh could make anything it could be ugly.

Those are the ebbs and flows of any basketball game.

Hell no they don't. I don't want them looking great now. I want them looking crappy so Coach P works on 'em so they look great come B1G time.

I'm pretty satisfied considering it's the first game of the year and they are without Mo and Wally. Hopefully the finish strong.
 

Austin Hollins already understands Pitino's half court offense. Great flash to the wing, pass out, and BOOM score.
 

This second half has some brutal streaks. Great coaching opportunities.
