FREE CHIP!! FREE CHIP!!

Where did these flashy passes come from. Today's behind-the-back, under the leg to the trailer was awesome. His no-lookers last week were amazing. Prior to those I'd never seen that kind of passing from him before. Hope he keeps it up.

Chip has the chance to be a special player by the time he graduates. Needs to work on the FTs for that to happen, however, given that his game is driving to the hoop

What you have to like about Chip is his attack mentality. Unlike too many of our other tentative offensive 'options,' Chip is not afraid. At times, of course, he becomes over exuberant, such as his late 1 on 4 drive, but it sure beats playing catch on the exterior for 35 seconds. In this regard, I remain highly impressed by Joe Coleman, but APB in the last two games concerning his drives to the rack. Thankfully, Chip replaced him in that area of the offense.

Chip may be the most improved player on teh roster from last year. He is playing very well right now. Keep it up chip!

This was by far, the strangest move of the night. Chip was the most productive player in the 1st half - in like 6 minutes he had 7 points, went 3-4 from FG range, and had one steal. I had to ask Tubby this at the post-game presser and his answer was something like: He saved us in the 1st half, played well, needs to see other guys play, realized he didn't have a PG in there, then he said he needed to put guys like Austin in for scoring, FT shooting and D....but then said even though he didn't really shoot well. It was the most random answer, and didn't make sense to me. If you really want to see a full rotation of players, why leave Trevor in for 31 minutes? I'm assuming it's because that's what you needed to win - but Chip had the hot hand and provided that spark, why wouldn't you keep him in to win?

If Tubby was playing his best players - Chip should have gotten a lot more PT from what he showed in that short time. He only got 3 minutes in the 2nd half.

I disagree with you. Chip's D needs development and his free throw percentate year to date is 13-32 0.406. Is that who you want in the game when you have a lead in the 4th quarter? I love watching Chip play. I think if he improves both of these aspects of the game he can lead this team in the future but not now. Tubby was simply trying to tell you in a nice way withouth throwing Chip under the bus that he needed players that could play D and shoot free throws and that right now is not Chip.

why the hell not?
CRG summed it up well in a different thread.
"Chip's really well suited to the 6th man role. If he were in the starting 5 he'd have to play a much more disciplined role. As the scorer on the second 5 he gets to play very aggressively which is his thing. I'd like to see him work on his defense & jumper for next season to make him a more complete player."
