Being "only" in the bottom 10% rather than worst is not worthy of a label of "improvement". If not for the tournament they didn't (yet) back out of this year, it'd be worst again.

If someone could be so kind, please remind me in April after the season is over and I'll see how these rankings turned out using each team's final non-conference SOS ranking. The "average NET ranking of opponents" is used preseason as a guide/estimate for what non-conference SOS rankings may end up.

An update on how these rankings actually finished up for the 2024-25 season coming sometime later today. Teams will be ranked based on their final non-conference SOS ranking, not on average NET of opponents, as used to gauge preseason rankings. The preseason ranking (using only the 82 schools) will be noted in parentheses.

The Gophers' final non-conference SOS ranking (#336 of #364 nationally) ranked 80th among the 82 "Power 5+" in these rankings. I'm certainly hoping Niko improves upon that in 2025-26.
