Conference Championship Game Thread

Totally agree but they will still probably do it.....because.....Bama....

I don't think they do. As others have said.....if teams opt out of Championship games because a loss would drop them out of the playoff.....it creates a big issue. Championship games make money. Conferences (even the SEC) probably don't want to cheapen them in order to include one team.

Everything you are saying makes complete sense and I hope you are right....but still won't be shocked one bit when Alabama is announced as a playoff team.

I guess I wouldn't be surprised either. People making decisions are idiots. Always.

The "but" in your response sounds like faulting people for beliefs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Maybe I am....but hey....we should probably all go bet big on Clemson to win it all because if God is this invested in their success how could they possibly lose? :)

If they don't, then it's all a sham and only about money. They can't move a team that loses on a last second FG below a team that didn't even play. Otherwise, teams in SMU's situation should opt out of playing in the conference championship going forward.

Alabama only had two of their three count as embarrassing losses, so..

Alabama is a name brand....SMU isn't. Hopefully the do the right thing and leave SMU in the playoff. But we all know that they are not just concerned with getting the 12 most deserving teams in....

Clemson didn't win because of god -- lol that's silly. They won because Big Earl from SC, #1 Clemson superfan, didn't change his underwear for the last 3 weeks

Only because the NCAA treated SMU football like they treated Minnesota basketball. SMU may have been the biggest name in college football during the Pony Express years.

Bama is out, they did it right and preserved the value of the conference championship games.

B1G and ACC championship games were by far the best and most entertaining.

Oregon's offense is peaking at the right time. Really impressive job by them.
