Complete meltdown in tOSU

That whole group needs to go pro and let a new group come in. Looks like they were content with last year's title and didn't have a hunger this year.

You didn't watch the fame did you? Coaches took the game out of the players hands....12 carries for your best player? 2 carries in the second half?

Elliot is right, but probably shouldn't say it publicly.

Although I'm sure Urban Meyer isn't one to keep things within the locker room. Good on Zeke. Couldn't happen to a worse coach.

Prima Donnas - that is what Urban Meyer has a lot of.

The loss rests squarely on Urban; Zeke should not have went public but damn Urban cost his team a Big Ten title and a shot at a national championship....I would be pissed too.

The announcement that he and Jones are going pro made it worse. Probably should have waited until next week.

well of course they should have waited. But Jones has been opening his mouth for years, so no surprise there. Could be we see a bunch of defections from OSU after this year.

NFL teams should take notice of the childish attitude of these players airing their grievances in the media. Grow up.

Yep, and they'll just reload.

It will be interesting to see this soap opera play out this week. Culture is underrated in FBS football. OSU has a long history of antisocial behavior. Remember long-time iconic coach Woody Hayes’ antics? I have a couple of friends who are huge OSU fans and I remember sending them a list of the sordid Buckeye history of legal troubles. Urban didn’t seem to be interested in changing that culture and the result is a roster laden with few you’d want your daughter to date or your son to emulate. There are sterling exceptions – Chris Speilman, Herbstreit – but the culture is rampant with boys who aren’t held accountable.

I wouldn't want him on my team if I was Meyer.

He obviously feels very entitled. I wouldn't want that kind of prima-donna attitude on my team if I were a pro coach, either. Screw that. If a player isn't mentally able to handle adversity without throwing a public hissy-fit suitable for a child of 9, then no. He needs to grow up.

Elliott and Jones would appear to be the new Toxic Two-some. NFL teams, beware.

I fully expect urban to fall on the sword for his players, cause he's a bitch.

Entitled? Huh? Are you sure that's the word you are looking for? It doesn't apply unless you are saying that he should not expect reasonable coaching from the staff.

Hissy fit? These young men bust their butts to be successful and the coaching staff turned in a horrible coaching performance. On the line was a conference championship, a national championship and a heisman award. Bad coaching hand cuffed the team and cost them all of that. Elliot should not have said it publicly (same goes for coaches criticizing players).....but he was right in what he said.

Personally what do you expect when people ask the question moments (within an hour) after a game and emotions are still high.

Mountain meet mole hill.

I'd say his college playing career is over effective immediately. I wouldn't want him on my team if I was Meyer.

Meyer would come across as a huge idiot if he benched Elliot for telling the truth. This was a continuation of the bad coaching decisions that happened on the field. Elliot should never have been made available to the media.

Elliot owes Meyer a apology. Meyer never would have done to Elliot what Elliot did to him if Elliot had made a game costing mistake. Meyer should tell Elliot that he (Meyer) made a mistake but that they are all in this together and airing dirty laundry is never helpful or productive.

Agreed.

I also can not help but wonder how much anger was do to the probable loss at a chance to win the Heisman trophy. Which would be a tad selfish.

Zeke will be one of the first RBs drafted no matter what, but who's actually going to Cardale Jones? He's been awful this year, and would be better off transferring and playing elsewhere.

Who says there is no "I" in team the year after winning a national title?

I'm not sure why Michigan State's victory was such a surprise (other than getting it without Connor Cook). Michigan State has two (now three) wins over top-25 teams while OSU had played nobody in the top-25. I was pretty confident that MSU would win this one and was not at all surprised when it happened.

m+e=I a player who feels entitled

Stop listening to Fox News for your vocabulary, they have all messed up. Entitlement does not apply the way you think it should.

He is entitled to adequate coaching, if I go to work I'm entitled to a pay check.

The Ohio State players were entitled to have a chance to win the game.

Entitlement as a negative implies that one expects something they did not earn.

It was a surprise because of HOW they won. Ohio State chose not to stretch the field with their passing game or run the ball with their heist an candidate. They use Elliot score a TD and then shut him down the rest of the game?

Everyone is quickly chalking this up to bad coaching.

Perhaps we have not heard the whole story. Lack of carries probably related to a high level of generally ******baggery for said ball carrier.

He should fall on the sword, it was coaching that cost them shots at a conference and national championship.

I still think he should hold his players to a higher standard with the media. He should and likely will take responsibility but players should keep it in the locker room.

No one will ever admit it. But that game WAS the real National Championship game.

@BTNRickPizzo: #Buckeyes running back Ezekiel Elliott:"coaching staff didn't put us in position to win. That's a team (Michigan State) we should beat." WOW

During a more rational era, that type of insubordination would get your scholarship pulled. This is one of the problems with making college football into a pro-preparatory league. Let the pros establish their own minor league and make college football college football again.
