Wrong. It's not a home game, it's a neutral site game and it is not part of the season ticket package. Season ticket holders will get a priority option to buy tickets, but it is not part of the season ticket package. This quote is from the link in the OP:

"The A&M game will not be part of CU's annual season ticket package, but season ticket holders will have the first opportunity to purchase tickets later this spring before sales will be open to the general public."

The only sport that matters at Denver U is (men's) hockey. It's like North Dakota without a football team.

And CU doesn't have a hockey team. So ... they don't really compete in anything.
 

The analogy would be like: the 2020 BYU game at TCF was cancelled, but we're still on the hook to go to Provo in 2025. So they made a deal with us to have that 2025 game be hosted at a neutral site in SLC (pretend they had an NFL team/stadium there).

I guess it sucks for their 2025 season ticket holds to not get that game included anymore. But it's reasonable, given the circumstances.

Wonder which NFL market has the most BYU alumni/fans? Obviously SLC, but that's not an NFL market, and the only stadium they have of reasonable size is University of Utah, which will never allow BYU to host there.

Got it, my bad. It was clarified in that article and the one I posted (essentially the same thing rehashed) that the move was a compromise, as the 1st half of the Home-and-Home was cancelled in 2019 due to CoVid.

I am going to venture a guess that an overwhelming CU ticket holders will opt in to buy tickets for the game. Could all be a moot point, depending on how the pandemic is going. Full Stadiums, modified/limited capacity etc.

Not easy to find this info, on a simple Google search. Just this: https://alumni.byu.edu/chapter-locations

Seattle would be farther away and not really drive-able for Twin Cities folks. I wonder if Denver actually would be an option?

I guess there is this as well (though obviously not every Mormon is a BYU football fan or school alumni: http://www.slate.com/articles/life/...population_in_the_u_s_an_interactive_map.html )

Maybe Las Vegas is an option, as well.

The Raiders Stadium would still have some shine to it by then.

Neither here nor there, but I have always thought the Gophers having a 1-off game vs Iowa St at US Bank would work out financially for all concerned, split the gate/seats like the Cotton Bowl for Ok-Tex.

I say 1-off because Iowa St, already plays a Big 10 game vs Iowa annually. Still this should be able happen at least once a decade.

Well, the pac 12 isn’t as deep as the other power 5

Playing 11 power 5s is certainly a gauntlet even if 8 of them are in the bottom half of power 5s

no weeks off really (except northern Colorado)

If Minnesota doesn’t want to only play a road game against BYU is some sort of future home game for MN as a replacement.

Georgia Tech vs North Carolina just moved to Falcons stadium. That’s a conference game though so not quite sure why

MBS is less than 2miles from Bobby Dodd stadium.

Wonder if GT would dare consider converting it into something else and playing home games at MBS?

Plus they already play Iowa every year. If they were looking to trade that series in for a series against the Gophers, then I guess it could be a thing, but that isn't going to happen.

More likely that Iowa State eventually gets added to the Big Ten. And that probably isn't likely at all.

I get why Iowa St does not want to play Minnesota regularly, or even a home-and-home, with the Hawkeyes already on the schedule annually. That was why I said once a decade, lace 'em up on a neutral field. Make it an event.

They should also face each other in basketball at least once in a while.

I personally would get less enjoyment of seeing minnesota play Iowa state than I would seeing Minnesota play some of the teams that are on future schedules.

Iowa state is pretty much boring and blah if you don’t have some personal connection to peak interest. Kind of like playing North Dakota state

Events I have been at that included Cyclone and Gopher fans have always been cordial, such as NCAA basketball tournaments (Metrodome '00 & Milwaukee '17) or long ago football/basketball games.

The shared distaste for the Hawkeyes seems to play a role in that.

Again, I am not saying create another border rivalry, just seems like they should play other at least occasionally, especially if some bucks can be made.
 

It all depends on what you're looking for in an away game trip, to be sure.

But I've heard Ames has a pretty nice tailgating and overall college town gameday atmosphere to it.

I've said this before, and you might know this as well, but ... part of it is:

they blame Minnesota players for killing Jack Trice. Seriously.
