This is a Gopher basketball forum. I am a gopher basketball fan. Ever wonder why I may be negative in this forum? I wouldn't call it negative, I would call it accurate.

We were 3-3 in conference. Beating NC was nice but they were not even a ranked team nor was WV. Nolen had nothing to do with the MI win. I thought we were very poorly coached that season. Playing a lineup with Rodney at the two and 3 big guys? Terrible coaching. Al Nolen was a below average pg in the Big Ten. There is no reason he shouldn't have been replaceable. None.
 


Year 3 was bad. Nolen flunks out. Tubby is forced to play Devoe more. We make a run in the tourney. Get a break and get in the tourney and stink in the first game. 9-9 in conference and we played our best basketball with Nolen out. Then the next year Tubby starts Nolen over Devoe? Then we lose Westbrook and DJ, both Monson players and it has gone downhill since.

Nolen was a below average PG? That's crazy talk. Nolen was on fire before his injury! Trevor may have won the trophy but the MVP of that Puerto Rico tourney was Al. Absolute lock down defender. Awesome handle. Amazing hustle. Strong as an ox. Could get to the rack & dish at will. Couldn't shoot a lick. Perfect B1G guard. He owned UNC, WVU & the B1G his SR year before the injury. You could see it in opposing guards faces, like beaten prize fighters they just wanted it to be over. He was the heart & soul of that team, when he went down they lost their leader. Below average? That's preposterous.

When we played them, UNC was 7th or 8th in the country...

They lost to Vandy the next night worse than they lost to us. NC is always good and this was a good win, but that's all.Not a program changer that's for sure.
 


minngg you are a f-ing idiot. First you say Andre can't play PG because he is a scoring guard, then you opine about how great it was to have Devoe at PG. Devoe was nothing but an undersized ballhog SG who could only dribble with one hand. Nolen was a great PG and leader. You are officially on my ignore list.

The extent people will go to to defame someone that doesn't like Tubby is amazing on here. So far I am a Badger fan, an idiot, someone named Bauer, a KY fan, a moron, and a sad individual. My crime? I think Tubby needs to go and defend that position when attacked. Nice board we got going here.

It's not because you rip on Tubby. It's because you are so hypocritical. We play well and you still won't ever say anything positive. Others want to talk about some of the positive, you come on here and rip on them. Then when others do the same to you, you act like you're some kind of victim.

It was definitely 8th. I remember because we beat UNC and Purdue last season when they were ranked 8th and beat Indiana this season when they were ranked 8th. Basically, if we played the #8 team every week of the season, we'd be in good shape.
