Coach Esposito: Gophers only team playing in Indy without a senior

It was definitely 8th. I remember because we beat UNC and Purdue last season when they were ranked 8th and beat Indiana this season when they were ranked 8th. Basically, if we played the #8 team every week of the season, we'd be in good shape.

Yes, UNC was 8th in both polls with a 1-0 record to begin the season. Minnesota was one of the top vote-getters in the 'others receiving votes'.. as was West Virginia.

The following week, Minnesota was #15/#17 and UNC was #25.... and the next week North Carolina fell out of the top 25 and didn't get back in until the very end of January, 2011. Highly talented team that didn't play very well for the first half of the season.

But, back to the topic. What Esposito and Maturi said is wrong.. and it might point to a brighter future if the team had zero seniors on its team... but the fact of the matter is it had two seniors who would be starting if not for injury. "Ralph is injured.. this means our future is bright!" is essentially what is being said.. I can understand why some might read this as just another excuse.

Let's just simplify this. The team we had on the floor last night has a very bright future. There are no more excuses.

The extent people will go to to defame someone that doesn't like Tubby is amazing on here. So far I am a Badger fan, an idiot, someone named Bauer, a KY fan, a moron, and a sad individual. My crime? I think Tubby needs to go and defend that position when attacked. Nice board we got going here.
I'm taking credit for 2 out of those 5 names! You forgot obsessive "Tubby Hater".

I would say next year Indiana, MSU, scUM, and the Buckeyes will be the top 4 teams in the conference. After that I would say Iowa, gophs, Illionois and wisconsin will duke it out for the 5-8 spots. Purdue lose Hummel so they're screwed NW loses Shurna and Penn State and Nebraska are well Penn State and Nebraska. I think will be better team, but I also think the B1G will be even tougher, espcially those top 4 teams depending on the schedule shakes out will win between 8-10 conference games, this is all assuming Mbakwe isn't back. I think two years from now is when this team can have a 13-5, 14-4 type season

I think you're right. We dance next year, then we contend.
