Bubblicious Thursday: Bubble Talk Goes Out The Window If Gophers Lose Tonight

When you look at Iowa's adjusted record, which I believe gets rid of home wins against RPI 200+ teams, they're 14-9 or something like that.

Iowa has a pretty big spread between BPI and RPI.

I am confused by this.

Iowa winning or losing only really impacts the Gophers if MN loses tomorrow. Take care of business tomorrow and MN have 2 victories vs. Wisky (Top 10 RPI). Get 'er done!

Let's just see Xavier drop one tonight vs. Marquette. One point game with just over 10min to go.

Could have swore Tubby was coaching this Iowa team the last month or so.

I don't know what the deal is with Lunardi. For whatever reason doesn't seem to like the Gophers' resume.

I am going to be interested in seeing how other brackets look tomorrow

How can you look at this Iowa game, and say they're a lock for the tournament? I just don't understand it.

This game illustrates how strong the B1G is from top to bottom. No 61 point blowouts in this league.....

I don't see any remote chance Iowa loses to NW (which IIRC is still without Jershon Cobb) ... but if they do lose we should celebrate. True we'd lose a top 50 win but it would put Iowa solidly behind us in the pecking order. I don't think they get left out, which pretty much means we wouldn't either.

Marquette over Xavier is the one we really need tonight. Our buddy GW's team hasn't helped us at all down the stretch, losing to all these BE bubble teams, but they've got one more chance tonight.

Northwestern 67 Iowa 62 heehee...

Marquette winning would be a great end to the day. Even if we don't win tomorrow, today basically ensured we'll at least be in the mix for a bid on Sunday.

RPI is bull$hit. BPI is bull$hit. The only thing that matters is PBR. :drink:

I get the 'last 10 in' not counting more than the rest, but if Iowa had started 1-6 and muddled to a 9-10 ecord, they wouldn't be considered a lock. It's as if they were granted lock status 3 weeks ago and it doesn't matter what they've done since. While MN and Nebraska with higher RPI's are bubbler's no matter what. It's BS.

SOS:

Iowa: 31
Minnesota: 8 (will go up after tomorrow's game. Possibly top 5).

Stanford still plays tonight against ASU. A loss keeps them squarely on the bubble as well. Yesterday's win over a 10-21 WSU made even less impact than our win over PSU.

Don, we don't want to get into a PBR drinking contest with Iowa for the last spot. They would drink us under the table and still be sober enough to take a fat stranger into a bathroom stall. Maybe that's how they measure BPI?
