Bubblicious Thursday: Bubble Talk Goes Out The Window If Gophers Lose Tonight

Damn, Florida State wins at the buzzer. They play Virginia tommorrow, and if they win that they are probably in.

SMU down 5 to Houston with just over 12 to play. Would a loss put them in jeopardy of sliding off the bubble?

It could put them in jeopardy. They have a triple digit SOS and if they lose, they could have an RPI in the upper 50's according to RPI Forecast.

SMU is interesting. ESPN's bubble watch has them as a lock already, but they're the last team in according to the dance card. Looking at their resume, I have to think they're on the fence if they lose this game.

Did we want that Florida St win? To me I feel like I want them as a top 50 win. They aren't a threat at this point are they?

Pisses me off. I was hoping Vill would get that #1 seed so some of my opponents would pick them for Final Four.

Could work out better IF SH can beat SJU/Providence and then lose to Creighton. Lot of if's however.

Yes they are. This win won't put them in the top 50 and if the beat UVa they are in ahead of us. Better if they had lost. As long as they lose tomorrow, it probably doesn't matter though.

TAMU looks like they will find a way to come up just short of beating Mizzou again. That would put a stake in Mizzou if they can finish it off.

SMU goes down. This is good.

SMU should be out but you never know. Lot's of people have them as locks already.

Pitt already up 10 on Wake Forest.

Mizzou and TAMU are tied. Mizzou with last shot.

That dropped SMU's RPI to 52. Thee have a few warts, but also some nice wins. Crappy SOS, like everyone else in that conference.

Not only does seton hall winning give a possibility of a weaker team stealing a bid, it makes for an easier game for the St Johns and Providence winner. Best case is probably seton hall beats the winner of that game and loses in the championship.

Who are the big games that we need to have lose today? Can someone just give me a quick list?

Pretty much we want everyone in that list in the first post as bubble teams to lose.

Even though Mizzou will probably win, not sure how Mizzou didn't easily take care of Texas A&M. The Aggies look straight up like dirt. Not an impressive team at all.

this guy didn't read the first post of this thread.

Read it. Just figured there was a more condensed list of important game. You can't tell me the 20 that are listed are all that important. Who is ahead of is that needs to fall out?

After the Penn State game today will our RPI go up or down? Weak opponent hurts the RPI, but a win helps. Which one is weighted heavier though?

It went down a point after Thursday's win over PSU, but there may have been other factors.

As it stands, the Gophers are the only top 50 team on the outside looking in, as far as most projections go, with 3 teams who are projected to get at large bids with worse RPIs.

A&M is terrible. Couldn't buy a shot in the final couple minutes and in both overtimes. Not the result we had hoped for at all, but clearly the better team moved on.
