Bubblicious Friday: Productive Day On The Bubble For Gophers

It very well could be us and Iowa battling for one spot. Win today and we get it, lose today and they do. While you can make an argument for both to be in, it seems unlikely the committee will take too many "meh" teams from just one conference. So as far as I'm concerned, today IS a tournament game and we need to win to move on.

I disagree, if we lose I think they'll look at Iowa vs us and it'll either be both or neither, I just think there's too many hairs to split to just take one, but if we win today, I would say no doubt we are ahead of Iowa.

Makes no sense.

Illinois, NC St

I would not have thought it possible but if Illinois reaches the B1G championship game are they on the bubble, could they possibly steal a spot, they are only down by a couple just short of the half, they could easily beat Michigan.

Ain't gonna happen.

Seems to has us in as the last team in at the moment in on 33 of the brackets with average seed of 11.76

followed closely by the first 4 out:

Providence- 11.78 avg. 32 brackets
California- 11.46 avg. 26 Brackets
Arkansas- 11.62 avg. 21 brackets

Coming down to the wire. Get a win and lock it up Gophers!

It wouldn't be a stretch. That would put them 8-10 vs. the RPI Top 100 and give them 5 RPI Top 50 wins, including 3 on either the road or on a neutral court. The bad loss vs. GT on the road by 3 would be the one glaring difference between them and MN. But the 3 road/neutral court wins would potentially balance that out. Lets hope Illinois doesn't pull this one out.

Illinois knocking on the door now. They'll definitely be in the conversation.

Thank goodness michigan just took the lead with 3 seconds to go.

Michigan takes the lead with 8 seconds to go, but Illinois can't quite make the winning basket. The tear drop bounces off the front of the rim.

Whew. Michigan and UVa take care of business. Now Florida needs to step up. It'd be nice if St. Louis would kill off their bid stealer as well.

Yikes. St. Bonaventure upsets #1 seed St. Louis... What a great shot as the clock expired.

If not for Iowa, St. Louis would be the flop of the last 3 weeks. From #10 to maybe a #10 seed. I'll resist any jokes about what Majerus thinks of this, but Crews is no Majerus.

Bonnie's over slu. Could potentially lower several teams rpi out east couldn't it? Would imagine slu s rpi should plummet

This is just hard to watch everyone talking about the bubble. I feel like everyone legitimately has ZERO idea of who is in vs out. Especially these talking heads who don't have the time to sit there and compare every detail between the teams. Perhaps that is the reason for the brackets that appear to make no sense right now?

Florida and Seton Hall winning today would definitely be a good thing for MN.

The winner of Dayton and st Joe's is probably in so it'd be best if they take down st bon. I think st Joe's is closer to the bubble so I'll be rooting for dayton today and tomorrow.
