Wet blanket time. I know everyone's excited today - but I'll wager you even odds that when the national recruiting rankings come out, the Gophs will still be on the bottom half of the B1G. And in a weird way, I almost like it that way. If the national rags started listing the Gophs recruiting class in the top 20, I think I'd be suspicious - like the other shoe was about to drop.

I don't know if Kill is ever going to go for the "sexy" recruit - the one that really moves the team up in the national rankings. It looks like he firmly believes in a "build from the inside out" approach. Trying not to be too excited, but this offensive line has the potential in a couple of years to be really good - as in - let's run the m*****f*****g ball down their stinkin' throats good. I have visions of going into Camp Randall and running for 450 yards on the skunks - and then dying of happiness.........

I'm surprised Mayes is 'only' a 3-star on Rivals with his offer list. It is pretty darn impressive - like 4 star recruit impressive.

Ah Good. This is good. Call me an optimist but I can just picture this offense a couple years from now just enforcing their will on opponents similar to the way we looked in the first half against Texas Tech. This pleases me.

This sounds like something the main character from I Love You, Man would say when he gets excited.
 

His film is really impressive. He is a big kid who plays nasty, but he is rare in that he looks athletic enough to play DT (I realize he's an OL recruit). It's rare to see a kid of his size in HS look athletic enough to be a DT, they usually grow into that position.

Started my morning by seeing this tweet from Connor Mayes at the top of my feed, as if my chili wasn't already hot enough from the last 2 days so hell a couple of Rose Bowl yells to start the day can't hurt...Still a long battle left but too many positives for our program and its future to ignore right now Let's goo...
