bad news for trevor?

Something tells me this wouldn't be a very big secret in the athletic department. Nor do I think they look bad for thinking so. They feel like one of their teammates got screwed.

Agree. It's not Maturi's job to be popular with the athletes--in fact it is his job sometimes to be the lightning rod. So I'm sure he understands that college age guys are going to respond that way, and I'm glad to see that the team is supporting one of its own.

It may be in his best interest not to play until this is settled. And...if he might not be around later it might be in the gophers best interest to RS him. I'm not sure blaming Maturi for doing what is best for both the player and the program makes him the bad man in this. It seems like he is protecting everyone he should.

If Trevor hopes to play for the Gophers at some point in the future, it would be wise for him to withhold his frustration rather than publish it to the world via facebook. The more professional Trevor handles this situation, the better chance he will have of returning to the Gophers at some point in the future. Obviously the court decision will be the key factor, but someone close to Trevor should be giving him advice to keep his composure through this frustrating process. I hope Trevor gets through this, is confirmed to be innocent and is able to rejoin the team at some point in the future.

I get what you're saying and someone definitely needs to tell him to either filter his status or limit who sees it, but I sincerely doubt anything he's said puts him in jeopardy of not being allowed back. Nothing he's said (or anything he might say so long as it is in a similar vein, i.e. frustrated but not over the top) will keep him from playing if he's found innocent.

I know people are upset and all... but be realistic. This isn't about cutting class or drinking... This could go very wrong for Trevor...very wrong. Maturi was backed in a corner. I would have been very, very surprised if Trevor got the full clearance to play before the trial. This is going exactly how I thought it would. Best case scenerio: Trevor is deemed innocent and is starting at the 4 spot for the Big Ten season. Worst case scenerio: Ugh! we all know what that could mean.
