Can anyone explain why an 18 year old athlete would want to go to Waco?

Baylor didn't even show up, that was the pathetic part. I'd like to see a B10 final. I don't get rooting against our conference. Each to their own.

Great win by Wisconsin. One B1G team in the elite eight, two more to go.

Having Big Ten teams win is good for our program. It raises the Big Ten into the premier basketball league the better they do and that helps Minnesota.

Exactly. Players want to go to teams, and leagues, that win National Championships.

It always amazes me when Gopher fans cheer for the Badgers to go far in the tournament, win a big bowl game, etc. because its "good for the conference." F THAT!!!!!!!!!! I hope the Badgers lose every game, do horribly in practice, and so on. Are other people with me or am I more anti-UW than the average person?

And can anyone who is cheering for Wisconsin tonight and hopes they make the Final Four, can you pin-point to me a single instance where their success has benefited us?

What benefit? We're already in the best conference (or 2nd) in the nation. Does burger king root for McDonald's to do better than they do so they can gloat when wall street reports that the fast food industry is strong? Who gives a F@$#.

To know any BADger fan gives one a reason to NEVER want the BADgers to win any game. And then to see erin Rodgers in their locker room after the game made me almost lose my supper! Rumor has it that guy on the Badger bench with the bad hair is erin rodgers twin brother.

ummm, YES. Of course BK hopes McDy's numbers are bad. of course McDy's hopes they take market share from BK. i take it you don't work for a public company, or if you do, you aren't in a position of executive leadership. The don't gloat, but they sure do care!

Clearly you don't live in Wisconsin, Station19!

Badger talk in general is insufferable, but imagine how it intensifies with each step closer to a Final Four/National Title appearance. I nearly slit my own throat back in 2011, when in the late Fall - there was talk of an eminent Brewers World Series, Packers Super Bowl, and a Badgers Rose Bowl.

This is so true. The only team I hate more than the packers Is the badgers. And I really hate the packers. For some reason though I can tolerate the brewers. Mostly because that is a sport we have consistently played better with the twins.

Your response makes no sense. Are you saying burger king hopes that McDonald's numbers are strong? If so I certainly hope you don't work for a publicly traded company with close competitors in their market sector. Of course they care what each other does, that wasn't my point at all. Of course we care what UW does, that's why this thread has 2 pages in less than a day. That goes without saying.

I'm frankly a little disappointed that GopherLady hasn't checked in on this thread.

They're also in a different league.

I got the matchup I wanted. If I didn't have plans already tomorrow, I would be on my way to Phoenix to watch the game at my sister's house to observe the family dynamic.

Absolutely surgical performance by the Badgers last night. Knife through butter vs. the Baylor zone. Kaminsky made Baylor's talented bigs look like stiffs. They made the Bears look like the team that was 2-8 in the Big XII at one time.

I dislike Wisconsin to a fault, but, I often find myself wishing we were in their shoes. Minus anything to do with Wisconsin of course and especially since I would relish the opportunity to rub our success in our rivals face.

Not a great comparison, since McDonalds and Burger King don't share a revenue pool like the B10 does. We all share in bowl revenue, TV contracts, etc. We benefit from a strong B10 and will do so more when our teams win the league and/or are strong in the league. Just because we haven't done that yet doesn't mean we don't benefit from a strong B10 and don't have a stake in the National perception of the league (esp in football). Sure, head to head we want to beat Wisconsin (as McD wants to beat BK), but in the meantime we need the pool to grow since we share in its successes financially and in perception.

I'd rather have my blood sucked out by leeches, shove an icepick under a toenail or two...
I'd rather clean all the bathrooms in Grand Central Station with my tongue...
I'd rather slam my fingers in a door, again and again and again and again and again...
I'd rather rip my heart right out of my ribcage with my bare hands and then throw it on the floor and stomp on it til I die...
than cheer for Wisconsin, with you.

SelectionSunday. Baylor looked like they had never seen a swing offense. Not many contested shots and a ton of
open looks. Arizona is a much better defensive team. Check the stats.

Tough day for you today, I would imagine!

Your lack of objectivity toward all things Badgers (and Hawkeyes) has no shame. It's one thing to hate a rival. ... I get that, I really do. But you're burying your head in the sand if you don't think this is an extraordinary Badger team (one the Gophers handled convincingly without Andre Hollins, by the way), easily Bo's most dangerous in his tenure. Anyone who watched that game last night and didn't come away impressed by the Badgers either has no clue about basketball or has a serious lack of objectivity. I think you know basketball pretty well, so I think you're in Camp 2.

Arizona will be a much tougher task for Bucky, for sure. 'Zona's a much better squad than Baylor. Won't be surprised either way who wins.

Since Bo Ryan has been at Wisconsin, he has almost never (possibly never) beat a higher seed. Great win but remember it came against a six seed, following two home wins.

I would bet the house on Arizona.

I respect what wisky has done in both football and basketball. With that said, I would rather watch wisky lose than Minnesota win. Can't stand those ass clowns

In all his years coaching at Wisconsin, and making the tournament every year, I believe Bo only has one win over a higher seed. They came close to getting a second one a few years ago against 1 seed Syracuse. They had just lost a player shortly after the tournament field was announced. According to the ESPN box score, Wisconsin only turned the ball over 6 times (same for Syracuse), got to the line 3 more times, and hit 14 3 pointers, but ended up losing by a point.

Changed to the other game because I could not stomach watching the Fadgers dominate. If I were a Badger fan I would relish the hate coming from across the border, so you are welcome Becky!

Spot on. Bo beat a higher seed on one occasion, #5 Florida State in 2008-09. Definitely a cross to bear on his coaching resume, in addition to the lack of a Final Four despite a stellar career. By beating Arizona on Saturday he has a chance to avoid becoming the Big Ten's next Gene Keady.

SS, as everyone on this board knows you are excellent at predictions. Since I really need AZ to take down Wisky in my pool, I would appreciate you predicting an AZ win.

Oh and to you other guys, quit the stupid burger analogies.

I wouldn't trust my tournament predictions, can't remember the last time I won a pool, but if it makes you feel better the Final Four on my "sheet of integrity" (not the one I did for Gopher Hole) is Florida, Sparty, Arizona, and Michigan, with Sparty over Arizona in the title game.

And I have Fla, AZ, Mich St and L'vill......with Fla over AZ.

I still think the champ game will be Fla vs Mich St.
