Are you cheering for the Badgers because "it's good for the Big Ten?"

It always amazes me when Gopher fans cheer for the Badgers to go far in the tournament, win a big bowl game, etc. because its "good for the conference." F THAT!!!!!!!!!! I hope the Badgers lose every game, do horribly in practice, and so on. Are other people with me or am I more anti-UW than the average person?

And can anyone who is cheering for Wisconsin tonight and hopes they make the Final Four, can you pin-point to me a single instance where their success has benefited us?

no way. never cheering for uw in the post-season.

I would rather cut off my own ba!!s with a dull, rusty knife. I didn't see that option in the poll.

If UK and Wisky were to play, I really think I'd cheer for UK. And that makes me sick.

No team on earth I'd rather see lose than Wisconsin. Green Bay Packers a close second. Never has so much smugness been possessed by a mere 2 teams.

Not sure how Wisky losing benefits any of you.....for some reason I guess it makes you feel better.

For ME however, I have Creighton winning the game Wisconsin is playing in and if Wisconsin wins many people will pass ME on MY bracket..........................and that would suck.

I'm with you!!!
I've never understood that thinking when it comes to wisky.
I'll cheer for the michigan schools though.

Much as it blunts the "WE GOT THREE IN THE SWEET SIXTEEN S-E-C S-E-C HURR HURR HURR" blather (doesn't change the fact that none of the other teams in their conference are any good at all)...no. No, I'd rather gnaw my own leg off than cheer for Wisconsin.

I'll always cheer for B1G schools to make it far besides Wisconsin and Iowa, and thats because I can't stand them, and because we typically are involved for the same players when it comes to recruiting, but there is more money to be made the more successful the conference is, so I understand the rooting for the B1G teams aspect, if didn't care for conference success than there is no point of being in the B1G, but I'd rather our schoo bankrupt than watch wisconsin win, thats just me too

I'm not sure "benefit" is the right word. But why on earth would I want to see that pompous jerk do well? It definitely makes me feel good to see him whining and crying like a 4 year old who was just told to go to bed.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, live there now after a 10 year stint in MSP thus the Wi in my moniker....

That said

Hell NO was no where near strong enough. I make the majority of my day arguing my hatred for the Baaaaadgers.

'Good for the B1G' platitudes never ever applies to Wisconsin or Iowa. Especially Wisconsin.

I do a few spread and square pools every year (since I can no longer pick actual winners and need to rely on luck). This year I got Duke ($25), Wisconsin ($50) and Michigan ($100). So, I basically had to root for my 2 least favorite teams in Duke and Wisconsin. Of course, Duke is out, but Wisconsin will start paying off if they cover the 3.5 against Baylor.

My worst-case scenario is Wisconsin winning by less than 4.

Clearly you don't live in Wisconsin, Station19!

Badger talk in general is insufferable, but imagine how it intensifies with each step closer to a Final Four/National Title appearance. I nearly slit my own throat back in 2011, when in the late Fall - there was talk of an eminent Brewers World Series, Packers Super Bowl, and a Badgers Rose Bowl.

How'd that work out for those ****ing bastards?
I'm actually a big brewer fan....

I posted this on the football board during bowl season when the same question was asked about Wisconsin and their game. I think it works here as well.

Cheering for Wisconsin at any time for any sport will earn you an automatic ejection from our house.

Would never "cheer" for Wisconsin, but Bo scored big time yesterday in his press conference. He fired an indirect salvo at Coach K. Anyone that does that, especially one of K's peers, scores major points with me.

Judging from Bo's comments, apparently I'm not the only one who has noticed that the TV networks allow Coach Alphabet to send one of his assistant lapdogs (usually Wojo) to handle the halftime interviews (coming off the court) instead of doing it himself. ... K's way of saying I'm above doing that. He's the only guy that gets away with that. Good for Bo for noticing. I'm guessing he's far from the only coach that has noticed.

The networks love to lick K's undercarriage & bow at his presence, but perhaps that'll start to change if they notice that with all those McDonald's All-Americans and high seeds Coach K has been to exactly one Final Four (a championship) in the last 10 seasons.

Looking forward to watching Baylor dis-mantle the Fadgers! Love the way their one-eyed bean-pole plays, and should be very effective in the paint :)

Hell no.

I am kind of hoping for a Michigan-Michigan State championship, though.
