Anyone care to summarize?

Also, no changes in the 247 crystal ball predictions, still 100% Minnesota.

I left the game unhappy that we lost. But my greater concern was the recruits that were there. I never expect this year to be great anyway- building a future that has a higher arc than before is my concern. getting in a quality big man like Mahmoud or whoever would be a big step in the right direction.

I hope our guests are still here and get to check out the snow falling right now... Snow angle, snow ball fight, snow man, snowmuch fun...

The state is referred to as "Minnesota Nice". The fans are ready to support you! don't worry man and thanks for supporting :) about 16 hours ago

Sorry for such a horrendous game. I don't blame you for not considering Minnesota anymore. No reason you should have to play for this garbage. believe me it's not about wining or losing one game for me right now even Syracuse lost to Boston college :) about 16 hours ago

The environment is loud and electric inside the arena during the Minnesota games. I won't tell you any more though. You'll just have to experience it on Wednesday night! That's what I was thinking too. I also think some of us were overreacting to the weather comment. I'm sure it's a factor, but not THE factor. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been here.

My friend who goes to MSU likely knows Assem since he hangs out with the team, I'll see if I can get his number for him

Looked up Assem's stats. Good player, and a mid-round NBA draft prospect, supposedly.

Yup seen him play once and he caught my eye right away, crazy, that the same player turns out to have a connection to anas. He is really good, very strong and athletic and easily a D1 player(wonder if he will try to make the jump, only a sophomore now), didn't get much love from D1 schools because of lack of knowledge about him and he had eligibility issues. He plays in front of Anas on the national team at the 5, but I expect him to move over to the 4 down the line with Anas taking over the 5 along with the kid who currently plays at USC, another tall kid, but has much more mass on him than Anas. Hopefully Assem tells anas good things about minnesota and the people here.

I'm not sure about the "Pharaoh" comments. Maybe a little much?

The Egyptian male national teams, are also known as The Pharaohs, remember watching a soccer match(nothing else was on) with the announcer calling them that, so its probably normal

What are the rules about weather causing a recruit to stay on campus longer than expected. Can the U cover his hotel room and stuff for another night?

What are the rules about weather causing a recruit to stay on campus longer than expected. Can the U cover his hotel room and stuff for another night?

I would think so, since he isn't staying for his pleasure, but not exactly sure, this is all got from the rule book

NCAA rules prohibit providing a delayed return flight for personal reasons or the
entertainment purposes of a recruit on an official visit (NCAA Bylaw 13.6.4.1).
Official visits must conclude within 48-hours. After the 48-hour period, the
prospect must be transported from the campus without delay. Therefore, the
prospect should be provided with the earliest flight home available after the end
of the official visit. Return expenses may not be provided if after the 48-hour
period, the prospect chooses to delay the flight home for personal reasons or
entertainment purposes. The prospect may choose to purchase their own return
flight, but they still must depart the campus at the end of the 48-hour period.

Edit* Looks like visit can be extended for weather.

Per Bylaw 13.6.4.2, an official visit may extend beyond 48-hours for reasons beyond the control of the prospect
student-athlete and the institution (e.g., inclement weather conditions, natural disaster, flight delays or
cancellations, airport security activity). In such instances, the institution shall submit a report to the conference
office noting the details of the circumstances.

I don't know anything about this kid but if he is playing behind Marie who plays at MSU I don't think he will be much of a player for the Gophers. Marie would not be much of a player in the Big 10. We would be right about where Joey King is without the ability to shoot a 3 or guard any position outside the 5. Marie is perfect for the D2 level but he hates contact, is not able to shoot from outside 10 feet and struggles with stronger players.

You should have stopped there.

Giannis Antetokounmpo wasn't even playing in the top professional league in Greece last year and now he is a starter in the NBA and one of the top rookies in the league. You can't project a player based on who is playing ahead of them on their national team. Most of the time there is a seniority preference with national teams and foreign leagues in general. The best players don't always play the most.

One of them is a Junior in college, the other a high school Senior. That could have something to do with it.

Love it. Snow can be cool if you've never really experienced it before... I'd take a blizzard over the deep cold while recruits are here any day.

Anyone have access to this?

The person that made the biggest impression was Coach Richard Pitino. Pitino was one of the first coaches to meet with Anas in Orlando in the fall and that relationship was made stronger during the official visit.

"In my opinion, when you play with a young coach who wants to write his history as you want too, it's a good thing," Anas said. "Because we have the power and the haste. And Coach Pitino has absolutely learned a lot from his father.

"I think if I'll go over there (to Minnesota), he will give me a lot of energy and opportunity. I think that's the best thing that I like about Minnesota."

Damn, it would suck to lose him because of weather.

Worse storm in a few years, and coldest winter in at least 20. Hopefully, he doesn't think it's always like this. Can't blame him if he prefers a warmer climate, but Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, etc. seem to get kids to overlook colder weather.
