Are those old? Thought he was supposed to be going to Texas out of high school. Fleck didn’t appear to have offered him in high school.

I bet most P5 schools have a ton of kids reaching out begging to be taken in. Hundreds of kids in the portal, most teams don’t/can’t take more than a dozen or so. Also I’m guessing most of those four/five stars in the portal haven’t exactly lived up to the hype.

Too soon to tell with them, don't you think? It was just last spring that they had that unprecedented recruiting class. Just because they're all highly rated doesn't mean that most of them will play as 18 year olds.

He started playing them exclusively in the second half of the season and thy were much better then.

2022 was the first time they were #1, but they've been recruiting really well for a couple years, according to 247; you'd think it would show on the field sooner or later:

2022: 1
2021: 8
2020: 6
2019: 4
 

Just read Alabama already has 12 in the portal, including 4 OL… Seems like a lot this immediately?!

Doug's not completely wrong, the scholarship doesn't necessarily count towards the 85, but if a kid gets pushed out and still wants to attend the University, the school still has to pay his scholly for four years, it just wouldn't count against the team if he's no longer on the roster.

You'd think, but when the majority of the top ten is also in your conference. For example when they were 4th, 6th and 8th, I am willing to bet Bama, LSU, Georgia were all ahead of them

We have had a relatively quiet start to the portal season when compared to some others out there. Will be interesting to see how many guys go into the portal from here. Last year we needed a big number to go portaling in order to make room for incoming transfers and freshman. That won't be the case this year.

Not sure what is quiet in your world. Just read this item

final count for Monday alone: 453 FBS scholarship players entered the portal.

That doesn't include those who were allowed to enter early due to Grad transfers and coaching changes

Quiet for MN. Just 6 into the portal so far. Many teams have had quite a few more go into the portal already.

Patience. The portal has only been open for just over a day and a half. I expect there will be more....
