If he has a 2.1 GPA, he is probably not suited for college.
Missouri already has 25 commitments for this class including 2 RB's. Michigan St. also has 2 RB commits already. A lot can happen before February but I wonder if either team even has room for Jones.
Jones comes in at #92 in the new Rivals250 for 2014:

Unless you have some kind of learning disability, I've never understood why some kids have such a hard time getting grades in High School. I know not everyone can get a 3.5 but do you really have to try that hard to get at least a 2.5? Most teachers will help you out and maybe even give you a break or two if you are at least trying.
I can understand it a little more if it is someone who doesn't plan on going to college after HS, but for someone who knows they are going to college, I just don't get it.
I don't know the whole story with Jones, this is more of just a general statement.
Guys, I don't follow Football recruiting as much/if at all compared to how I follow Basketball.
I see he is committed per all sources yet we act like he is a question mark. Has he publicly stated his recruitment is open again?
I'm pretty much the opposite. In basketball if you publically "commit" doesn't that mean something and you need special permission to reverse your decision? In football, someone can say they commit to a school, but it means nothing until signing day. Jones said that while he is still committed to the Gophers, he is still looking around at options and there is no guarantee he will play for the Gophers. This was in Mayish?

Let's get Jeff Jones locked up and in the fold. Who cares what his GPA is? That's for him and the coaches to worry about. As fans, it's none of our concern. He's a great player and we want him at the U. It's important to land a high profile in-state kid like him.
How is it none of our concern? If his GPA precludes his ability to gain admission to the U (or to play major college football at all), I'd say his GPA is pretty damn relevant and important to any Gopher football fan.
yeah, thats what i was thinking, or Royce White, i've had a feeling that he will do something stupid that will get him kicked off the team just because his grades are so lowIf he does end up coming here, this feels like Andre McDonald 2.0

Anyone know if Jones is planning on wearing his HS number(Making his own name) at Minnesota or if he will wear one of the Big name numbers in Jersey #21 Barber or #22 Maroney? Those two numbers should still be reserved for the best running backs on the team.
