Agreed, but I think that's where, with all the openings, an AD that's swung and missed on his top 12 or 13 candidates might reach for PJ. The question that would arise is probably one of how much more money would it take for PJ to agree to give up some control of the team to the AD (i.e., requiring PJ hire experienced coordinators with some level of autonomy)?

I think he'd be worth a flyer. I would be surprised if when the music stops, he's not sitting in an FBS chair this time next year. He's not likely to end up in a P4 job, but keep an eye on top G6 jobs. Colorado State comes to mind as a job that's his if he wants it but its been a tough place to win. As an SDSU fan, I'm impressed with him. NDSU upgraded when Entz left.I honestly hope PJ stays. He has been great for the program. Too early take: But if, because of the sheer number of highly-paid positions that are and will be open this year, he is seduced away, I hope the Gophs would consider NDSU’s Polasek. A winner. Knows and has recruited the area. I believe a coach like Polasek would keep in place and strengthen the cultural edifice OJ has painstakingly built. And he has had a lot of experience, including x’s and o’s jobs. Plus, he was a successful QB in college. Might get a little more dynamism in the offense?
