All Things Kerwin Walton Recruitment Thread (Class of 2020)

Someone on Twitter noted that Kerwin doesn't follow any current Gophers players on IG, but does follow a couple Tar Heel players.

That's what we're reduced to. *sigh*
 

All sides, The U, UNC, and AZ are indicating that it's UNC, both inside and outside of paywalls. Dad won. Mom lost.

Put him on ignore for now. Madtown was active but hadn't posted for something like three years, and all of sudden shows up with a bunch of "Kerwin's not coming" posts. When he was posting, three years ago, he was living in Madison.

He's not trolling here guys. We don't like the message, but it's not his fault.

Time to move on. I hope the coaches aren't caught off guard by this decision.

If he wants to play next year, it's here. He would get the most experience against the best competition in the country in the Big Ten.

Can you confirm, for inside paywall chatter?

Outside, there is nothing. Go to twitter and do a search for Kerwin. No such message is being put out by people, yet.

I don't have a subscription anywhere but I know Madtown isn't going to troll or make anything up on a recruit decision like this.

If it's inside paywall, fine. That is what it is.

But he said outside paywall.

I totally think he is going to UNC, but I have not seen anything yet saying what he stated.

There are better players and teams in other conferences. Top to Bottom i would think the Conference may be best but the best players and championship teams are coming from other places.

yeah but we dont get the 2nd tier kids. if the U doesn't change this they'll lose kids to St Thomas
 


So Kerwin's mom had t-minus 2 hours to turn this around. What can she use as a threat?
 

The only down side for the kid is Old Roy may not be there long but the kid probably will not be there either. One and done is their dream and that of most parents.

Walton is not a one and done and i do not think anyone in his camp thinks he is.
 



If their was any big Walton news, behind a paywall, it would have leaked by now on Twitter or on the UNC free board.

Surprised his camp isn’t concerned about the possibility of him getting buried on the bench by the revolving door of 5 star recruits at UNC. He would be guaranteed solid PT staying home but will wish him the best either way.
 

Ryan James spent the weekend breaking down old high school games...so that is good to see.

Kids don't see it this way. Their parents don't see it this way. He is just underrated and is as good or better than the guys ranked ahead of him based on anecdotal evidence of like the one time they both played each other, they didn't guard each other, but Kerwin scored 11 points and the kid ranked ahead of him had 10.

Why do you think the new normal is to get recruits in during the summer for class?
 

It's hard to say "no" to a University that is smart enough, influential enough and has the booster money to make seismic academic fraud just disappear like a fart in the woods. You can leave the reading glasses and text books at home, KW...they won't be needed at UNC but you should bring your scuba gear and basket weaving materials.
