I talked to Elijah's AAU coach earlier Wednesday evening. He said that Thomas was not at Minnesota today. He said "he might be coming tomorrow (Thursday), but I don't know if it is 100% yet."

My OP said Friday but it was changed by someone other than me.

It's the prep school he was going to. It's the same one that caused NCAA eligibility issues for past graduates.

The Two High post look would be very fun as a big man. They are quarterbacking the play pretty much once they catch that ball at the junction. Lots of opportunity and movement, great to see. Thomas would have so much freedom, and would fit Pitino's style so well. I have always thought that Pitino needs to bring in a big time out of state recruit before the hometown kids buy in to staying home themselves.

Thomas may be that guy.

Thomas would kill in our zone offense as the middle man. He's much, much more skilled than EE on offense and EE did pretty damn good in that role tonight. Thomas is easily my #1 hope for our recruiting over the next couple of years.

Great, keep on it. With all of the top-5 and top-3s we've made with some highly recruited players this past year, you have to think that Pitino is connecting with these kids. All it could take is one of these guys to turn us in the right direction. Elijah Thomas would be an awesome player to get.

Yes, and I recall reading that her mother works at the U.

Hate to oversimplify things, but it would be pretty reasonable to think that our chance of landing Thomas - an out of state 5* recruit - depends substantially on the continuation of that relationship. Yet another reason that being a college coach/asst (your recruiting depending on the whims of high schoolers) would really suck!

I would get soo goddamn gitty if this kid was an early commit..... Unbelievable how much I would jump around.

I think the first highlight video I saw of him I was thinking "no way we get this kid, but goddamn he has some of the best footwork I've seen in a big"....
