All Things Elijah Thomas ('15) Thread

Doesn't he go to that school that the NCAA doesn't accept their classes??

EDIT: 247 Sports also says that he's visiting Minnie 8/14-8/17.

This is from his blog:

As for visits; I'm going to Minnesota unofficially Aug. 14-17. Then I'm planning to go to Ohio State, Florida, Indiana and Oregon during the school year.

I'm going to Midnight Madness at Kansas and Oklahoma too. I can't wait for that! Plus I'll visit Texas A&M when they play Alabama this year. So I'm planning things out so I can get down there and see what campus life is like.

Huge week of recruiting for Pitino and his staff. Tyus, Reid, Rashad, Henry Ellenson, and Thomas all on campus.

His twitter acct in case anyone was interested! Go Gophers!!!

He is an absolutely incredible combination or size, strength & athleticism! I remember Ryan James talking about Elijah having interest in Minnesota Months ago... The guy (Ryan James) is incredible in terms of recruiting! It is a great sign to see Pitino getting top 10 players from states like Texas to come to Minnesota for an unofficial when he's only been here 4 or 5 months! Unfortunately, this guy is going to be one tough player to land - Offers from every school in the country and plenty of unofficials already planned for this year! Not to mention the Officials he'll take next year when he starts to get real serious.

Well Jordan Mickey and another kid were initially ruled ineligible for going there their senior seasons, but they cleared them after an appeal. So I don't know that I would say the NCAA doesn't accept them at this point. It's probably OK that he goes to Prime Prep.

I talked to Elijah's AAU coach earlier Wednesday evening. He said that Thomas was not at Minnesota today. He said "he might be coming tomorrow (Thursday), but I don't know if it is 100% yet."

They were ruled ineligible before they were ruled eligible.

You need to look at the specifics. Not concerned.

As for Elijah, it would be great if he stops by the U to check things out a bit while he's in town visiting friends. I don't think him being in town should give people a ton of hope, but maybe he sees some things he likes while here.

I would rather have Thomas than Stone for the class of 2015. This kid is a stud!! What happens if we get Travis to sign this year, so much for Elijah Thomas then?

Would easily still take Thomas if he wanted to come here. Might be too early to worry about that scenario though.

They don't play the same position. Travis is a 6'6 PF and Thomas is a 6'9 C. They could co-exist.

we have a better shot at Tyus . They both can go anywhere however Tyus is from here and Elijah is not.

We were playing Rodney and Mbakwe at the 4 and 5 last year, so Stone and Travis could easily play together, but I'm not holding out hope that we land Thomas. He's a long shot.

I think Stone and Thomas are both long shots for Minnesota.

I think Pitino should spread his scholarships out for big guys. I'm just not sure about taking commitments over 2 classes from Stone, Thomas, Ellenson, Illikainen and Travis. Sure that'd be a great front court, but Idk how coach is going to handle this predicament....
