All Things Class of 2026 Gophers Football Recruiting Thread (Offers, Videos, Tweets, Rankings and More)

Can I ask the deep football minds something I am curious about. It seems that the coaching staff targets mostly taller bodies that more typically fit into the tackle position. I would say the taller bodies are typically harder to find so never a bad thing, but a problem with it seems with our run game is we don't get off the ball greatly to get any push and I feel like the shorter stout kind of body is better for that? I'm not upset by any means of getting these more highly ranked kids into the program especially since we never know which ones will pan out, but wouldn't one or two guys who are projected to be inside o-line type of bodies make sense?
I think we definitely have some issues with evaluation, but we are not alone in the Oline issues. Coaches have been over valuing length and reach for Oline for awhile.

I wasn’t sure about Jilek initially but I do feel like the staff gets in on guys early and catches some fast risers before they start going big. Clearly the offer for Jilek must have been edge rusher if they are giving Schafer the offer to replace him (if he’s really a “replacement”). Wonder if Jilek wanted to play a different position? Hard to not switch to a Blueblood with big NIL though. This Schaefer kid physically looks pretty impressive though. Definitely would be a solid get with the offer list. I wonder how many transfers are coming? That’s a lot of players they appear to be signing. Class at 30?

Rivals own analysis has Aytch as a top 40 recruit in the country, biggest jump of any prospect over the year, verge of 5* from their own guys, other services drag him down.
For a fringe composite 5 star, his offer list is oddly short. Also, no offers from in-state IU or ND. I'd imagine once this news starts to get out some others will make a run at him.

Offer list is a bit odd but I'm sure he is not an unkonwn to schools like Indiana and Notre Dame. Maybe just wants to get out of state and made it clear he wasn't interested in being recruited by them.....who knows.

It's the Rivals ranking, the general ranking that people see is the composite of all the sites together, averaged out. So composite he's in the 300's, Rivals has him as top 40 though
The graphic Tony Liebert is using must not be up to date. Estrada isn't a 4⭐ on any service currently.

Jilek has committed to Texas Longhorns. It’s flipping season,
We have had four decommits in the 2026 class. Besides Jilek, one committed to Utah (home state) and two committed to Cal.

15 days to signing day and holding at 30 commits at this point.

Five composite 4 starts on 247.
25th rated composite class
