I think we definitely have some issues with evaluation, but we are not alone in the Oline issues. Coaches have been over valuing length and reach for Oline for awhile. Can I ask the deep football minds something I am curious about. It seems that the coaching staff targets mostly taller bodies that more typically fit into the tackle position. I would say the taller bodies are typically harder to find so never a bad thing, but a problem with it seems with our run game is we don't get off the ball greatly to get any push and I feel like the shorter stout kind of body is better for that? I'm not upset by any means of getting these more highly ranked kids into the program especially since we never know which ones will pan out, but wouldn't one or two guys who are projected to be inside o-line type of bodies make sense?
The Wisconsin guys have all been pretty damn good Gophers players over the years, I would take him Schaefer in this class.
Yeah, he’d be a nice addition. Offers from Nebraska, Purdue, Iowa State, Kentucky and several others. The Wisconsin guys have all been pretty damn good Gophers players over the years, I would take him Schaefer in this class.
Most ever in one class?
Rivals own analysis has Aytch as a top 40 recruit in the country, biggest jump of any prospect over the year, verge of 5* from their own guys, other services drag him down.
For a fringe composite 5 star, his offer list is oddly short. Also, no offers from in-state IU or ND. I'd imagine once this news starts to get out some others will make a run at him.Rivals own analysis has Aytch as a top 40 recruit in the country, biggest jump of any prospect over the year, verge of 5* from their own guys, other services drag him down.
Close enough to be Flecks first 5 star in my book. It’s going to be a rough few weeks trying to hold onto these guys.Rivals own analysis has Aytch as a top 40 recruit in the country, biggest jump of any prospect over the year, verge of 5* from their own guys, other services drag him down.
Offer list is a bit odd but I'm sure he is not an unkonwn to schools like Indiana and Notre Dame. Maybe just wants to get out of state and made it clear he wasn't interested in being recruited by them.....who knows. For a fringe composite 5 star, his offer list is oddly short. It's the Rivals ranking, the general ranking that people see is the composite of all the sites together, averaged out. So composite he's in the 300's, Rivals has him as top 40 thoughTop 40 national recruit? What am I missing?
