All Things Class of 2015 Recruiting - Class Finally Complete? Nope Chris Obekpa visit

Welcome aboard McBrayer!!

Let's hope Jarvis goes to UNLV instead of WI

Hope you're right. Would be a solid trio of back court commits.

The plan has always been to take 3 guards and according to Matt Jessen-Howard and Ryan James this will even probably help with Jarvis as he'll know there will be talent around him.

Very interesting listen from Ryan James. Commentary on Dorsey, McBrayer, Jarvis.....

Minnesota, Tennessee, Seton Hall, Temple, Fordham and Rice made the cut for Nwankwo, 6-10, 245-pounds out of Bronx (N.Y.) Victory Rock Prep,

Nwankwo is a damn man. I hope he signs on 9-5. Can only imagine what a beast he'd be in a couple of years under Shaun Brown's training. Is anything even set up for AI to visit anyways?... I'd take Nwankwo in a heartbeat. Visions of him & Martin in the post are very intriguing

Jerry Meyer is a little late to the party. This has been known for almost a month now. I feel good about our chances with Nwankwo. With Walker and Elliason graduating, we can sell him on playing time. I like the potential Nwankwo/Konate center rotation, they would compliment each other well.

Ryan tends to focus on a couple of recruits and generally doesn't offer that many, this could be a tough year for them if Stone and Sharma both decide to go elsewhere, Heldt commiting to Marquette early kind of took that option off the table.

STrib: A glance at Minnesota's top recruiting targets in the 2015 class - profiles a number of names, including:

Small forwards:

Chris Clarke:
The 6-foot-6 wing is currently ranked 58th in the 2015 class and only moving upward after his recruitment exploded late in the process, getting a big bump in attention in the spring. The Virginia native was in town for the EYBL event in Bloomington earlier this summer and his father, Curt Clarke, made it clear he and his son were serious about the program and the school. The super athletic Clarke narrowed his list last week, naming Iowa State, Virginia Tech, Creighton, Florida, Connecticut and Tennessee as priorities, along with the Gophers.

Maybe its the dreadlocks but the way he attacks reminds me of my favorite Gopher Vincent Grier

Class of 2015 Team Recruiting Rankings (Rivals)

17. Minnesota
2015 commits (National rank)
PG Kevin Dorsey (No. 85)
SG Dupree McBrayer (No. 134)
The Gophers wanted backcourt help and they have gotten it. Dorsey isn't a giant, but he plays with loads of heart and is an off the dribble playmaker. McBrayer is a long and slender score first guy who can play as a shooting or point guard.

Comments from Nwankwo on the schools he is considering....

http://temple.247sports.com/Article/Nwankwo-trims-list-to-six-sets-three-official-visits--30610366

Minnesota: “They’re the first big school that offered me and decided to give me that chance. Their coach came to my school and offered me on the spot. They’ve been with me since day one, through the ups and downs of my high school career. They know what type of player I am, and I feel really comfortable with their coaching staff. I like the relationship we’ve been able to create.”

Sounds promising as far as his interest goes. Although I agree with the posters that say he's got a Big Ten body, I'm always wondering whether that's enough. I still have memories of Aliou Kane, who had "muscles all over," but didn't have enough game to make an impact.

Update from Amelia......I don't think this has a ton of new information, but some have suggested Grimes was not going to commit until the spring. This would suggest he will commit in November. Grimes is also considering cutting his list. Minnesota will make the list.

"Bigby said Grimes, wanting to focus on school and his final high school season, plans to make his decision in November. He will likely announce a shortened list midway through the month."
