All Things Class of 2015 Recruiting - Class Finally Complete? Nope Chris Obekpa visit

We will know over the next month and a half to 2 months who the gophers are seriously interested in and who is seriously interested in us. It'll be just like last year with new offers popping up everywhere. I can't wait for spring recruiting names to start coming in! It's the best time of the year!

If we lose Jarvis and/or Alex because the Skunks win the national title, the "Yay Big Ten!" crowd should automatically lose their right to express any opinion, ever. The strength of the Big Ten is not going to help us with any regional recruits. They're in the Midwest already - they know how strong the conference is. The Big Ten already basically has first choice over them - the question is which Big Ten team they play for.

Me, I hope he takes a good, hard look at Little Dre and sees what this system could help him become. (Especially if he improves his jumper - I think Dre could be unstoppable next year if he does that). I also hope UW loses by 40 tonight, but that applies to every game they play, ever, including exhibition games.

True, we should move to another conference where the competition is weak, Ohio valley anyone?

But on a serious note, I think most of us want badgers to lose, but we root for other B1G teams to make it far. But you are a moron if you don't see the finical benefits of being in a great conference like the B1G, and we are great because of how other teams have performed from our conferences. This year the B1G made the most money of all the conferences in the tourney, and that money is split between all the teams not just the tourney teams. I personally never root for Iowa or Wisconsin because I think the cons out weigh the pros since we compete with them for recruits in the area, and I just can't stand them, but I'll always root for the other B1G teams in non conference games. There is a reason why schools like UConn are trying so hard to get into B1G, and its not because competition is weak.

Anybody know anything about the Jalen Adams situation? You'd guess Jarvis is the main target as far as guards go but how much of a chance do we have with Adams?

Do not see why Pitino is not on Akolda Manyang Duluth kid playing center of Indian Hills Iowa. Looks like Kansas is working him why not Us.

We are still in the mix for Jalen Adams, but the big boys are starting to get involved. Kansas and UCONN have recently offered

Alright thanks man. I been trying to keep an eye on some of these other guards in case Jarvis goes elsewhere. Obviously Trier and then K.J. Walton is another name that's been thrown around.

We are currently in good shape with Trier. There is a level of confidence that we are his leader right now. We just started recruiting Walton about a month ago, so not much to report.

Are you talking about Allonzo Trier? If so, we are considered a favorite? Just seems like he has a lot of top schools after him

I said there is a level of confidence. A feeling from within the program.

I sure hope we are the favorite for Trier. Now that Eli Thomas eliminated us Trier excites me most out of our 15' prospects.

I can back up what Tommy Flanagan said about Allonzo Trier. I've also heard from a good source that we are in good sitting with him.

Tommy do you care to share an inkling of what your affiliation with the team is? You seem to have a rather high volume of "insider" information and have been relatively accurate to my memory. I pf not that's cool.

Manyang has a more than a couple bags full of baggage that would come with him. No thanks.

So he smoked weed in high school, big deal. If every young athlete with "baggage" wasnt given a chance, how many star athletes wouldn't have ever come to be? Akolda seems like a kid who's gotten his act together, and he's certainly good enough to merit some interest from high-major D1 programs.

Please, nobody be the idiot to tweet at Trier and ask him something like "Is Minnesota your favorite/leader?" "Is there a chance you come to Minnesota?" Also, Doogie/Marcus/Amelia have no clue, please don't ask them. Let the kid breathe and keep stuff under the radar for awhile.

lol at not going after a kid because he got caught smoking weed, a lot of athletes do and just people in general do, including some on your favorite teams, they just haven't gotten caught. Heck, some of my good friends in high school did it and now are doing great things with their lives, including one who is now a doctor. Smoking doesn't mean you have baggage, a lot of good hearted people do it, if they should be doing it or not is a different debate, but thats like saying someone has baggage because they smoke cigarettes and you think its bad. I know personally of some gophers in recent years who smoked, and some that would really shock some of you. If the the poster above is correct (and I hope he is) than I am super happy pitino is going after him. Him and Alex would be great front court class for 2015 now that we are out on Henry and Elijah.

Serious question, I don't know anything about the Manyang incident.

Was it more or less than the 96 pounds that Kimani Young got caught with?

Everyone should read this article, wasn't even weed he was smoking, it was cigs(which is worse for him as an athlete), and he was 18 when he got caught which makes it legal but that’s a violation of high school league rules. Recruit the heck out of this kid Pitino
we got a prez who used the Esnortiar ...Manyang is just a baller.

There's more to it than smoking. If Pitino does his homework and is comfortable than I will trust his judgement. People can change.

Sure, Manyang was wrong for doing what he did his junior year of high school, but he seems to really have gotten his act together. Manyang is a big time talent, so are fans really wanting Pitino to not recruit him and let him slip away to the likes of Ohio State, or Kansas (both heavily recruiting him) because of a minor-incident that occurred 3 years ago as a 16-17 year old?
Well I certainly am glad Pitino is overlooking it and going after the kid, because he would be a big time get! A frontcourt with him and Josh Martin would easily be among the most athletic frontcourts in the country!

That's what Maturi would have wanted. But thankfully those days are over.

Absolutely.
