All Things 2026 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

Not much of a dilemma. They pretty much have to trade him in July. Giving him 4/$100 million or whatever it would take doesn't make sense if they think Tait stays as a catcher.
The dilemma is that there is no decent internal bridge intil Tait arrives.

Unless. You’re telling me a chance there’s a reunion with your favorite

It's time to call up Orlando Arcia. Dude is mashing at AAA. Either move Keashall to 1B or demote Royce or Gray.

Caratini (Vazquez 2.0) and Alex Jensen (Vazquez 3.0).
There may be a poll in your future I’ll which backstop becomes your biggest 🎯. May they give as much entertainment as Christian 😃

It was more a Rocco issue than a Vazquez issue. Shelton does not insist on playing the back-up every other game.

Derek does insist on Josh Bell hitting clean-up who might as well be Vazquez. I get giving him veteran deference for a while but it's been 6 weeks. His OPS is under .600.. Please stop.

I think it was also likely a Falvey issue on Vazquez.

Ervin was also Johan. He started going by Ervin to avoid confusion.
So he was right

That's some crazy serendipity.

I take back my needless Edits/Corrections!

b. Johan Ramon Santana

Santana was born Johan Ramon Santana, and used that name until 2003. He changed his name to avoid having the same name as Venezuelan pitching star Johan Santana. According to Santana, "I just came up with Ervin... Ervin Santana, that sounds good.

This may be the accidentally coolest/funniest thing ever posted.

Re: catcher, a lot of noise about the Twins taking Georgia Tech catcher Vann Lackey with the #3 pick. I doubt he’s an immediate straight to MLB player, but he would be a quicker bridge to the majors than Tait.

Buck with his 15 Big Flys, including two thus far tonight, and is now third in MLB, behind Judge and Schwarber; he’s tied for third with some guy from the White Sox.

I’ll take the next Jason Varitek.

I had/have high hopes for SWR, but really beginning to wonder if he'll ever put it together.

Me 2- he was one of our most consistent players in the second half, but he hasn’t built on it this season🤷‍♂️

Here’s an article from The Athletic regarding his demotion -

His numbers are brutal -

Striking out a career-high 39.3 percent of the time, Wallner was hitting .167/.259/.292 with four home runs and 10 RBIs in 135 plate appearances and struggling defensively, too.

Sports Info Solutions rates Wallner as tied for the worst defensive outfielder in baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates’ O’Neil Cruz at minus-8 defensive runs saved. Meanwhile, Baseball Savant grades Wallner as tied for the third worst with minus-3 Outs Above Average.

Amazing😃.

Are you officially officiating as of now?

Pretty cool that Brooks has responded so dramatically with Culpepper nipping at his heels; will serve him well, wherever else his baseball journey takes him besides MN.

Slight Career WAR retreat for Brooks Lee, down to -0.4 entering today's game.

1-4 today so far.

Just regrouping till he completes his accession of the negative summit into the land of positive WAR.
