All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

Another alarming stat. For whatever reason, the Flores defense just hasn't produced many turnovers really since he's been in Minnesota. This year has been brutal.

I thought the missed Sacks yesterday were just massive. Those are drive-changing plays, and guys just couldn't wrap up Williams.

The Bears are first in Turnovers, that covers a lot of shortcomings and helps explain their 7-3 record.

Unless we lose out, no chance. He’ll go first and unless we lose out, we aren’t getting there and even then still might not
We were 4-4 two weeks ago and drafting at pick 15

We lose 2 in a row and have only moved up two spots to number 13.

There are so many crap football teams that even when you lose, you don't gain much in drafting.

Agree, not pinning all 3 Home losses on JJM.

Even yesterday, while the Defense ultimately only gave up 19 pts (credit the unit for keeping them in the game) there were issues yesterday. Especially with the ability to tackle. Zero takeaways as well, which you have hit on in other posts.
The loss yesterday was almost entirely the offense and the QB, but we gave up a 3rd and 12 and 3rd and 14.

On one of those, Metellus and Harry had no interest in tackling the guy short. We are so weak at safety.

I would put it at more 60% Offense and 40% Defense as far as responsibility.

Defense was really bailed out by the FG the Bears missed.

Holy shit. I had to check, you are correct. Bears are #1 in TO margin, by a fair amount actually.

The Vikings are 31st.

Checking AI, the Vikings Defense has caused 1 TO (vs Detroit) since Week 3 vs Cincy.

Is that right?!? That's really hard to accomplish.

Uffda.

I don't know. Williams looked a little rattled. If we score at all, I think we could have taken over. I'd go 80-20

It's almost beyond belief.

Sometimes I wonder about Flores risks and aggressiveness, but then I wonder if he isn't covering for a total lack of talent.

To Blow your minds some more, we’re tied for second in forced fumbles with 11
(See link below); we came into the Bears game tied for first.

The only reason I know these arcane turnover stats, is that PA, repeats them ad nauseam on The Fan. The lack of interceptions is mind boggling - we’re tied for last with 3 and the Bears are first with 15🤦‍♂️.

If Vikes finish last in the North, these teams will likely be on their 2026 schedule:

NYJets
Miami
Tennessee
New Orleans
Atlanta
Carolina
Arizona
NY Giants
Brilliant long-term play.

What if it becomes very apparent the rest of the season that we will need to spend a FRP on yet another QB next April?
That won't happen. Either he shows enough to be the clear #1 next season or you make him the 2026 version of Anthony Richardson and bring in Mac Jones or someone like that to compete with him.
