All Things 2025 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

I understand your comment, but my post was really regarding relievers, as the inference in your post was we would have copious amounts of blown leads from the bullpen, due to the trades culminated thus far.

My second question was this -

Why do you think next year would be any different than this year

Bader had a nice bounce back year, but $10M (next year’s number) @32, doesn’t seem like it will have a significant impact, as we should be able to find a cheaper 4 OF option🤷‍♂️
I just think people are acting like rebuilding a good bullpen is easy. There's a reason so many teams are trying to acquire bullpen help. Because it's hard to build a good one.

I don't know if next year would have been any different, but I think the Twins were more talented this year than the results showed. Winning 13 in a row was not a fluke. If you keep the bullpen largely intact, then they enter the season with a top 10 overall pitching staff. Then if Lewis gets his mojo back and Correa improves (if you look at his career, he is very up and down from year to year).

A lot of what if's, I know. But I don't think they are that far away from being a good team.

Well said, I agree.

Sometimes when the results aren't great, a different voice can make enough of a difference to produce better results. There's 5 managers in MLB that have been in their spot longer than Baldelli. They've all been to, or won, a World Series.

I agree that rebuilding a bullpen is not easy, but in comparison to other areas, might be the easiest and also the most volatile from year to year.

And after watching pretty much every game this year, I would say that the 13 game win streak was more flukish than the 38-57 record outside of that streak.

I agree with lots of what you said, but I’m kinda in what the F kind of mood regarding the Twins, after fading three times in last 4 seasons IIRC.

Regarding Correa, his first year was good and last year he was an AS, when you factor in his planter however you spell the second part and his D, he’s been a solid B signing for me.

If it makes you feel any better Passan feels the Phils took our milk money -

Bader trade C for us/B- Phil’s
Duran trade B for us/A Phil’s

Can’t copy and paste it

James Outman is the return for Brock Stewart. Left handed batter who can play CF. Was really good in 2023 (3rd in ROY voting). Fell off a cliff the past two years.
Yeah I have no idea what they're doing then. He was never a top prospect and had one solid season.

If the Twins are eating a good bit of the Correa contract, then they should get a bit of a return. If not, then they may not get much.
