All Things 2025-26 Minnesota Wild Season Thread

Hoping Jared Spurgeon is ok. he hit his head into the goal post.

Boston takes care of the Wild 6-3. Hey but Kaprizov finally found the back of the net. Boldy not so much again

Staring to lose faith in this team. Could see a 5 game and out against Dallas or Colorado. Vancouvers stinks and played last night. Wild are “good” and have had 5 days off. Wild trial 2-1.

Well, they’re up 3-2 now with a pretty dominant 2nd.

Go ahead and get a start on the offseason and stop watching now.

Hopefully, you didn’t make yourself suffer through the rest of that 5-2 win

Slow start after 1 then it was all Wild

I’m not even sure it was a slow start…

They dominated the majority of the 1st, it was 45 seconds at 4 on 4 and the PK that led to them being down 2-1.

Yup. The team on the back end of a back-to-back is always going to start to show those legs wearing down in the 2nd and especially 3rd periods. Legs just get heavier and heavier and heavier as the night goes on

Shots were pretty even after 1. After that not so much

Just looking at the standings, some of the records, see how things might shake out to close the season on some of these races.

Kind of a crazy stat; Anaheim leads the Pacific Division, despite having a (-8) goal differential, and they have a whopping 8-0 record in Shootouts. Hard to imagine them doing a lot in the postseason with those metrics?

It looks like there will most definitely be a wildcard team in the Western Conf playoffs with at LEAST a (-25) goal differential. Holy wowzers...

They either need to make regulation wins 3 or get rid of the loser point in ot or be fine with ties. Teams making playoffs and being one seeds off shootouts is ridiculous

Edmonton has won 6 more regulation games and 6 more in ot and regulation than Anaheim but is behind (pending tonight’s game) because Anaheim is 8-0 in shootouts? Completely ridiculous

The kings are in the playoff hunt because though they lose a lot, at least they lose in OT. Their 19 regulation wins are 2nd fewest in the entire league

Wild up on Detroit, who once again are choking down the stretch. Have to pass Dallas entirely as will lose the RW tiebreaker and h2h will at best be a tie but home ice is in play.

Dal: 102 pts; Cal, MN, NYR, @tor @buff
MN: 100 pts; Sea, @Dal, @Nash, @STL, Ana

No favors in the schedule comp, but we'll see.

Biz Nasty dropping some not so flattering comments on the Red Wings in the middle of this afternoon's game... Ouch!

With Minnesota win over Detroit. Minnesota clinches at least the 3rd spot in the Central. if Colorado beat St Louis tonight in any fashion. Minnesota vs Dallas will be your round 1 matchup.

followed immediately by a massive Detroit comeback only to see Kane go full braindead and cost them the game. luckily for detroit still a game in hand on the Isles (the Flyers should pass them at 1 point back with 2 in hand) and they've still got games with Philly and Columbus, but goodness some teams just cannot figure out how to scrap for points

The Yzerman situation if they miss the playoffs is going to be an interesting one given what he means to the organization but have continued to miss the playoffs under his direction

This could be the third year in a row where Detroit was fairly comfortable in the playoffs only to choke it down the stretch. I have always liked Detroit going way back to Gordie Howe days

Trap game? Let’s hope not. Seattle has lost 5 straight and got pummeled 6-2 by the Jets last night. Pounce on them early and often

Hoping the Wild take care of business and pretty much end the postseason hopes of the Kraken. Seattle ain't making the playoffs but if they had a glimmer of hope, getting thumped by the Wild would end their season resoundingly.

8 giveaways by the Wild that period. Good reason they are down 2-1

Wild up 3-2 after 2. Dallas is losing to Calgary in the 3rd 3-2.

Had to look it up. Trenin has 390 hits this season so far. Next closest is 309. With that said he only has 33 penalty minutes. That is pretty impressive

1st playoffs matchup is set. It will be the Wild vs the Stars.

Dallas is a very winnable series for the Wild. Stars are a dismal 3-5-2 in their last 10 games and struggled to beat a bad Calgary team in OT tonight. Dallas is not playing great hockey right now

Wild earn a regulation win against a non-playoff team in a game where I didn't feel it was playing its best. It picked up its effort when it needed to and got scoring from all over the lineup. Good to see Ek, Marcus & Tarasenko score.

True but the playoffs are whole different animal. They have the best power play in the league at home. Wild obviously need to keep their penalties to a minimum
