All Things 2024 Minnesota Lynx In-Season Thread

The Lynx (15-6) are out in L.A. today to play the Los Angeles Sparks (5-16). It starts at 9:00pm. Napheese Collier is a game time decision. She has "a plantar fasciitis condition in her left foot." The Lynx still have the best record in the Western Conference.

I have a feeling that Collier's Olympics are in doubt. Maybe Clark has a chance as an alternate.

LOS ANGELES -- — Bridget Carleton scored 16 points, Dorka Juhasz added 15 and the short-handed Minnesota Lynx beat the Los Angeles Sparks 82-67 on Tuesday night.

Minnesota (16-6) has won seven straight games in Los Angeles and 13 of the last 14 meetings with the Sparks overall.

Minnesota took control early by making 11 of its first 16 shots, with points from nine players, while Los Angeles was 3 of 12 from the field. The Lynx led 51-35 at halftime after shooting 54%, including 6 of 11 from 3-point range.

Alissa Pili gave Minnesota a 25-point lead, 70-45, late in the third quarter.

Kayla McBride and Cecilia Zandalasini each scored 11 points for Minnesota. Carleton made all four of her 3-point attempts to help Minnesota go 9 for 18, while Los Angeles was 3 for 20.

Napheesa Collier, the Lynx’s leading scorer and rebounder, did not play due to a foot injury..

The Lynx could use a rebounder. Too bad they didn’t have a draft pick to acquire one. Oh wait, Cheryl didn’t want to be shown up by a player.

Collier is out on the floor for the national team against Germany. Great to see.

That was a really nice win in Vegas tonight. Lynx were aggressive and shot well. They frustrated the aces enough that Plum was complaining about the refs during the interview between 3rd and 4th quarters

Lynx beat Las Vegas last night for the second time this week with Napheesa Collier again leading the way. Saw both games. The Aces now have the 5th best record in the league but they're right up with Chicago when it comes to being chippy and whining about every call.

Tonight at 7PM they retire Maya Moore's jersey and have Indiana and Caitlin Clark as the opponent.

"And here’s one impression after the Lynx beat the Aces — this time 87-74 — for the second time in three nights: Someday in the future, Napheesa Collier’s No. 24 will be up in the rafters, too.

“I mean, it’s a blast,” said center Alanna Smith, talking about both winning — which the Lynx (21-8) did for the fifth consecutive time — and playing with Collier. “Not only winning, but watching greatness happen in front of us.”

Playing in her 150th WNBA game, dominating on the offensive end, cleaning the boards and guarding Aces star A’ja Wilson all night, Collier willed the Lynx to another impressive victory, thrusting her up the board in the race for league MVP."

Minnesota win over Indiana. Minnesota clinch a playoffs spot.

Sold out crowd in Indy saw the Lynx beat the Fever 99-88 last night. Four of the Lynx starters were in double figures with Collier's 26 leading the way. Lynx have the 2nd best record in the league.

The Lynx just absolutely steamrolled them in that third quarter.
Funny watching Collier play against Lexi Hull. Collier just completely overpowered her. Womanhandled her, if you will.

Couldn't watch it but the Lynx again came from behind to win. This time against the Mystics.

WASHINGTON -- — Napheesa Collier scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead five Minnesota players scoring in double figures and the Lynx beat the Washington Mystics 78-71 on Sunday to win for the 10th times in 11 games.

Minnesota (26-9) has won three consecutive games and has a 1 1/2-game lead over the Connecticut Sun for the No. 2 seed in the playoffs with five games remaining in the regular season.

Washington (11-24) had won five of its last six games and is 1 1/2-games behind Chicago for the eighth and final playoff spot..

Too bad the Lynx pick swap with Chicago is in 2026. Without Reese, they will probably miss the playoffs.

Lynx beat the Dream 76-64 in Atlanta. Liberty is about to beat Dallas and the Sun play out in L.A. at 9:00

Good day for Minnesota sports.

Vikings beat SF to go to 2-0.
Twins beat the Reds to go to 79-70.
Lynx beat the Liberty to go to 29-7. It was their 6 win in a row and their 13th out of the last 14.

Lynx with 2 games left - vs Connecticut and LA. a win over Connecticut clinches the #2 seed in the playoffs. this team has nice balance.

Minnesota clinches the 2 seed with a win over Connecticut. Carleton with a 3 pointer to give the Lynx the lead and the game.

The ladies play some mean team basketball and Collier is probably the best 2-way player in the league. Cheryl can coach a little, too.

She's great, but Wilson is still better going both ways.

This Lynx team is good enough to win it all.

They'll probably end up 1-2 for MVP and DPOY with reverse outcomes. Great players.

Lynx host Phoenix in a first round playoff game Sunday at 4:00. Should be enough time for Vikings fans to get out of Downtown. It'll be on ESPN. The Fever play out in Connecticut at 2:00. Not surprisingly that game will be on ABC.

Good day in Downtown Minneapolis. After the Vikings victory the Lynx beat Phoenix 102-95 in the first game of their beast of 3 playoff series.

Hate saying it but that could easily have been a loss if it weren't for some shaky calls it went our way.

I thought it looked like they got a little over reliant on getting the ball to Collier in the post in the second half. Obviously you want her to be the focus of your offense but it seemed like it took them out of the flow a bit.

Courtney Williams seems to make big plays when we need them.

Collier is seeing the game in slow motion. She's just playing amazing ball right now

She was great last night and all 5 Lynx starters got into double figures in that 101-88 win. That 4th Quarter was tough to watch. Once Phoenix decided they were gonna lose they took cheap-shoting to another level.

The Sun got us a little discombobulated there at the end.

Well no huge secret there. Both teams played intense defense and Mabry torched us from three. In addition to them forcing us into some tough shots we also just missed some good looks especially from theee

Can’t go 4-18 in the fourth quarter and expect to win.

The Lynx are a better team, but need to play like it.
