All Things 2024-25 Vikings Regular Season Thread

Who in the wide world of f'ng sports is not teaching CJ Stroud that you can't take a sack when you get a little ways over midfield? WTF?!?!?!?!?! Three f'ng drives I counted where he took a f'ng sack on 3rd down and either got knocked out of FG range or made the FG so long they missed, etc.

I have no rooting interest here but I just get enraged every time I see a guy do this. Just the single dumbest thing you can do on a football field. I hope the jets lose by less than a touchdown just because of this.

It also happens way too often. How have the players not figured this out yet? Complete stupidity.

Instead of being enraged, I find it hilarious, going back all the way to Desean Jackson for the Eagles.

Until it happens to the Vikings. Imagine if Diggs had done this during the Minneapolis Miracle play.

That would be our luck, finally a game winning play to get to the Super Bowl and something like this happens.

Correct, my opinion would be vastly different for a team that I have a rooting interest and/or action.

Interesting synopsis on possible Vikings moves before the deadline. DJ Reed may be off the board now, due to the Jets win, last night.

Minnesota Vikings

As in 2022, when they acquired tight end T.J. Hockenson from the Lions, the Vikings (5-2) could part with some draft picks ahead of the deadline to secure a preferred target. Rather than compete for a cornerback like the Jets’ D.J. Reed in free agency, Minnesota could deal a late-round pick for him now and extend him the way they did with Hockenson.

The same strategy could make sense for players like Bengals defensive tackle B.J. Hill or Panthers offensive lineman Brady Christensen. Some other options are Cowboys defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa, Colts guard Will Fries and Raiders cornerback Nate Hobbs. All are free agents-to-be on sputtering teams that might see draft picks as more valuable for the long term. — Alec Lewis

Someone bet on the Texans...🤣

Who did it first, Jackson or Leon Lett in the Super Bowl? Had to be Lett, right?

Lett was earlier but he got the ball knocked out by Tasker. Still a bonehead play, but not OG Jackson style of just letting go of the ball unencumbered by defenders inches from the End Zone.

MNF, right? It's our good fortune that these boneheaded plays always seem to find the bright lights.

It was definitely Lett...he started a tidal wave of stupidity at both the college and pro level. You would think it should be a lesson learned for others to get across the goal line, right?

I remember Desean doing it because he was on my Fantasy team that year. He cost me 6 points for the TD, gave me -2 points for the fumble and I lost that week by 4 or 5 points. Good times.

Correct, MNF. I was at Matt's Bar, having a Juicy Lucy on the rail and almost fell off the chair laughing so hard.

Tried to stop by there tonight as a matter of fact, had to be 30-40 people lined up on Cedar though, so I passed.

I like the Vikings and the OVER today (46.5) at this point. I think the Colts score a few points with Flacco but the Vikings will move the ball at will.

About 70% of the money on the Vikings and 86% of the money coming in on the OVER.

I guess Vikings fans want the Packers to win at home today? Feels dirty cheering for either of them. Supposed to be bad weather at Lambeau, have to think that favors the Packers, but not good for Jordan Love's bad groin, if it gets slippery.

In other NFC North business; a Bears loss at the surging Cardinals would all but seal my futures bet from last summer of the Bears winning UNDER 9.5 wins. GO CARDINALS!!!!

SIDE NOTE: Damn, I need Aaron Jones to find the end zone a few times. Laid some money before the season on him going OVER 4.5 rushing TDs on the season and I thought it was the easiest bet ever. Here we are, almost at the midpoint, and he's only got 2 rushing TDs. Give him the rock!!

He’ll get it - bet on it 🤣

4 and 8 and Dallas runs a fake punt pass on their side of the 50; I think Mike McCarthy wants to get fired and get paid this way (great gig if you can get it😃)-

Dallas now has Five pre-snap penalties in the game 🤦‍♂️

This Viking fan is not rooting for the Packers. Can't do it.

Just saw a Seattle defender hit a receiver in the head, snap his head, and the ref throws the flag.

After discussion, they pick up the flag.

It's so random.

Meanwhile, the Detroit defender gets the penalty and ejected.
