All Things 2024-25 Minnesota Timberwolves In-Season Thread

I know Washington is awful, but take Randle and Donte out, maybe Conley and Edwards too, that levels the field more than a bit.

Just watched the almost the last 2 quarters of Hawks at Pacers. Geeze that Trae Young is electric. 34 points, albeit on a ton of shots, but also 17 assists.

Dillingham, Garza, Clark, so far off the bench. Does Poole ever come out of the game? Dang! They are sitting him at the start of the 2nd quarter.
Edit: Jingles in.

Edit: They need Dillingham, I mean Joe, back in for some offense.
Naz hurt his wrist. Man…

Minnesota basketball. It's fantastic. For really awful teams named Washington in search of a road win.

LeBron James with 33 points, 12 assists, 11 rebounds tonight in their victory over the Knicks.
He had 11 assists in their last game when they crushed the team that beat the Wolves tonight. They won so handily that even Bronny got to play.
Is Bronny really shooting 9.1% on the year? I gotta be reading that incorrectly.

Dallas getting throttled by Cleveland right now. Mavericks, of course without Davis, Christie. Irving, Lively, Gafford, Washington also out.
Announcers are trying to give the trade a positive narrative.

Man oh man, they need to find some defense somewhere next half.
It never gets old watching DeRozan just rip their azz to pieces every damn time they play him.

McDaniels and Edwards have no chance.

Monk does the same.

Good thing about not having a top 4 seed is that they won't have any sort of home court advantage. This team plays worse at home

No more home games for the wolves or wild. Either that or they need to stay in hotels when at home.

Another pathetic loss at home. Ant was horrible down the stretch....again.

Luka is a feel good story. He's one of the best garbage time players in the league. The problem is that he can't play meaningful minutes in an NBA game. Rob's performance trend is playing out the way Finch predicted at the start of the year. He's been really good about one out of three games. NBA growing pains. When the wolves have to play both these guys important minutes they will continue to come up just short.

Yep. Rob is not ready for prime time yet. He might turn into a solid starter, but I have some concerns.

Randle to be re-evaluated in 2 weeks.
IMO, this seems like a weak media effort by the Wolves to make him appear more "tradable" before tomorrow's deadline.

Groin injuries are almost always a 6-8 week recovery for athletes at this level and even then are subject to re-aggravating the injury after their return.

There's lots of NBA spin about the Wolves' interest in Lonzo Ball + change with Randle going to the Bulls. Oh boy.

Lonzo is a good to great on ball defender from the point position. Conley and Dilly can't guard a potted plant.

Conley has no legs and Dilly needs time.

I would like Lonzo on the wolves, but they need more obviously. And, will Lonzo's body hold up?

Could Lonzo help? Probably. Can he stay healthy? Coin flip at best.

What I don't like is that we keep breaking down a single valuable asset into smaller, less valuable pieces that are expendable.

The current roster is such a terrible "fit" and having so little in tradable assets makes it difficult to fix.

It all boils down to Dillingham.

Does he become a great player, then everything is good.

If not, we are stuck in no man's land.

Pray that Ant does what Michael Jordan did with Pippen to McDaniels.

McDaniels needs to work everyday. Get some fire and step up his offensive game. Get some emotional control. And then he needs night seasions with Robert Covington - so he learns what work actually is.

Ant isn't that guy.

Wolves started up 27-6 on this schit Chicago team.

They are now losing with 5 minutes to go in the half. They are just blowing by anyone in front of them.

Just a complete cluster.

Luka was abused so bad they should call law enforcement.

He is not. But an ATS can dream can’t he?
Dreams are good to have. Especially for MN sports fans.

Ant is situational lazy and careless. I don't see that changing any time soon. Jordan wasn't either. Ever.
