So you are comparing size from about row 25 in the corner. Too funny. Rudy might be smaller than Ant and Rob from that vantage. (Before you shitpost, I'm joking about Rudy being smaller than Ant and Rob.) Keep working on it. From better seats Rob is tiny compared to the other players on the floor. Once he gains some muscle and learns defense, he'll consistently contribute. Here's Dillingham next to a 6'4" 225 lb Ant with Conley behind him last night. Yeah I'd say he's at least 6'3"175.
That's a lot of teams in the NBA and Ant has done it more this year than ever. He's shooting 3 more 3's this year and 1.3 fewer FT's than last year. And I never remember players being on the floor in the 80s, 90s, and 00s. Totally a new phenomenon.
So your odds of injury increase when you get older, what a surprise. You still build when your players are at their peak in their mid to upper 20s.
According to you this team is Ant in his prime and a bunch of players past their prime. And you think they should have kept another player past his prime to win now. By next year this whole team will be past their primes including Ant. And you think that makes sense. Laughable.
Ant is second in the league in minutes in the last 2.5 seasons. That doesn't bode well for his future availability. He might still be a very good player for the next few years but the data indicates that we won't see him as much. As to how a championship team gets built around Ant, it's going to be tougher without the draft picks, Rudy on the downside and no compatible second star. (Maybe it's Naz, but at this point he's still complimentary.)
Ant's FT shooting might be due to increased three's and it might be due to increased whining. He does everything possible, in terms of his behavior, not to get calls. He's ahead of last year's pace in T's. He goes to the line a lot, but not nearly as much as the contact he generates.
