All Things 2024-25 Minnesota Timberwolves In-Season Thread

Here's Dillingham next to a 6'4" 225 lb Ant with Conley behind him last night. Yeah I'd say he's at least 6'3"175.

That's a lot of teams in the NBA and Ant has done it more this year than ever. He's shooting 3 more 3's this year and 1.3 fewer FT's than last year. And I never remember players being on the floor in the 80s, 90s, and 00s. Totally a new phenomenon.

So your odds of injury increase when you get older, what a surprise. You still build when your players are at their peak in their mid to upper 20s.

According to you this team is Ant in his prime and a bunch of players past their prime. And you think they should have kept another player past his prime to win now. By next year this whole team will be past their primes including Ant. And you think that makes sense. Laughable.
So you are comparing size from about row 25 in the corner. Too funny. Rudy might be smaller than Ant and Rob from that vantage. (Before you shitpost, I'm joking about Rudy being smaller than Ant and Rob.) Keep working on it. From better seats Rob is tiny compared to the other players on the floor. Once he gains some muscle and learns defense, he'll consistently contribute.

Ant is second in the league in minutes in the last 2.5 seasons. That doesn't bode well for his future availability. He might still be a very good player for the next few years but the data indicates that we won't see him as much. As to how a championship team gets built around Ant, it's going to be tougher without the draft picks, Rudy on the downside and no compatible second star. (Maybe it's Naz, but at this point he's still complimentary.)

Ant's FT shooting might be due to increased three's and it might be due to increased whining. He does everything possible, in terms of his behavior, not to get calls. He's ahead of last year's pace in T's. He goes to the line a lot, but not nearly as much as the contact he generates.

Holy crap. Turnover city these last 2 minutes of the half.
Think Minott lasted one play and Finch seen enough.
Clark looks very willing defensively.
Dillingham looked good offensively.
Edwards with 5 turnovers.
Julius using those elbows and shoulders to bully his way in the lane.
Booker looks really good offensively as he always seems to against Minnesota.

Good win against a hot team on the road. Finch gets ejected, Wolves ramp up the defense. Suns with no answer for Julius as he worked over O'Neale.
Bad blood between Jaden and Booker.

The bench
With Reid out Alexander-Walker really stepped up with 23 points off the bench. Been about a year since he's scored this many points in a game.
Dillingham with 8 points in 15 minutes. Hit a couple of free throws also. One bad turnover on a pass that never should have been attempted.
Garza with 4 minutes and 3 points. Not the most athletic, but does put forth the effort.
Clark got 10 minutes and 2 points. Displayed some nice defense. Had to check Booker at times, which has to be a difficult task. Maybe earned himself a few minutes here and there.
Minott lasted, literally, 12 seconds before he got yanked. Started the 2nd quarter and ended up trying to check Beal. He must have assumed Beal is going to head around the perimeter and get the ball from Booker. Takes his eyes off Beal and it ends up a dunk for his man. Conley replaces Minott.
(Nothing to do with the bench, but glad I'm not the only one that thinks Randle looks like Idris Elba.)

Last night might have been the second most complete game they played (after pummeling Denver). I'm not usually a complain about the officials guy, but good gravy was that an awful display by the fellas in the Emirates blouses.
They play the worst team in the West tonight and the worst team in the East on Saturday. Maybe don't play down to their levels.

Need to figure out how to morph Dillingham and Clark together. Would have quite the player.
Clark is for real defensively. I remember watching a UCLA game a few years ago. Clark only scored a few points but totally dominated on defense. Maybe the most dominant performance by a guard I have ever seen.

ahhhhh, before Jaden poked at Booker with his finger, Booker had used his hand like a gun and pretended to shoot at Jaden. That is what happened.
Edit: Actually, it seems Jaden did it first.
Oh well, I tried Jaden.

So Spacing and Paragraphs were also unavailable?

So he’ll never post again?
