All Things 2024-25 Minnesota Timberwolves In-Season Thread

106 by the Celtics in their 2 games. Granted, they were hunting 3’s in the first game to break the record, but that looks like the way the pendulum has swung.
I can't stop yawning because of the game last night. The West Coast games kill me on school nights.

I didn't know the Celtics broke the record. What's next....100 three's in a half?

It makes you wonder if the NBA will move the 3-point line back in the near future.

Randle is like a drunk circus bear with basketball skills. He certainly is talented offensively, though...great game.

Ant, Rudy and Naz were tremendous. Conley continues to look very old. Jaden continues to be wasted talent and could eventually be used to trade for another young big like Claxton, Duren or Okongwu.

Good win for the guys and despite being so early in the season, this should be a huge boost for team confidence and chemistry.

Go Wolves!

They did not break the record. They tied it and had plenty of time left in the 4th quarter to break it, but were unable to.

Tatum, Celtics celebrate Banner 18 by making record-tying 29 3-pointers and crushing Knicks 132-109

Toronto won at home last night over Philly. Only 6 of 23 from 3 (Didn’t watch the game) 26 turnovers. Got to the line 46 times and Philly shot 53 free throws. (Kind of glad I didn’t watch) Jamison Battle with 15 minutes and 12 points. Hit a couple 3’s, 4 of 5 from the field. Fouled out. Pretty cool he made it.

Little too close towards the end, but a win nonetheless. Randle and Edwards both with 24, Gobert with a double double and 4 blocks. Finch again going 8 deep with Ingles getting 5-6 minutes or so as the 9th man.

Sloppy win. Fun to see Battle play. I never would have guessed he would be on an NBA roster. Why does Ingles play?

I wonder if he’s figuring out the primary pieces and how they fit, before lengthening the bench?

Wolves second in the NBA in “highest % of shot attempts being 3 pointers at 50.4%”
As I mentioned earlier, they want to try and score more points (discussed by Tim during the summer games, his comments, not mine) and it would result in a more uptempo offense - which even this Captain Obvious could see

Dallas hosting the Jazz tonight. Hopefully Utah gives them a good game and makes them use up some energy.

It might be time to see if the kid has what it takes to play with the big boys.
20-27-26 has been Conley’s minutes.
DD is 32-27-23
NAW is 28-18-16
Think Finch will increase their minutes as opposed to playing Dillingham.
What reserve that hasn’t played will see the floor first this season? Suppose a blowout in one direction or another and he clears the bench.
Looking forward to tonight’s game. Doncic shot terrible last night, so…..

You're probably right. It just seems to me that getting your younger players some meaningful minutes early in the season allows you to better establish your rotation for the rest of the season.

We have new veteran players we're integrated into our system and I'm not even convinced Dilly and TSJ are ready. I do see 10-12 minutes available for Minott, though, especially with Jaden's propensity for foul trouble.

Doncic and Kyrie will get theirs tonight. The guy I'm worried about is Lively even in a game where their could be 60+ 3PAs combined by both teams.

First game of the year go for me.

Like Randle’s activity and creativity. Man he landed awkwardly on thst block attempt. Amazing they don’t get hurt more often.

Way to many turnovers.

Luka is the biggest piece of shit whiner and shit talker in pro-sports. I can’t stand that guy.

It's the same thing every game with Dallas. They kill us on the boards.

Kyrie, while a damn good player.......just destroys us every single time. Almost to the point of embarrassment. I'm always told we have perimeter defense. I guess I really don't understand it.

then doncic with a bomb dagger!

It's like watching the same game over and over and over with these guys. I'm really starting to hate them.

Too many turnovers and bad defense tonight. The Wolves were hosed right before Luka's shot as well. Lively was clearly over Rudy's back on the rebound plus Dallas stepped out of bounds.

Effing turnovers
We had 20 and they had 9 turnovers; can’t beat a quality team like that, with that kind of discrepancy.

Nice to see that the fears of Randle, by some others on here, being a ball stopper/lane clogger are unfounded.

As I noted in an Athletic article, Fitch envisioned him being a creator and using his unique skill set to be a multi-dimensional offensive tool. He’s a much better passer and goes stronger to the hoop, than KAt did.

Tibs didn’t use him in this way when he was in the Knicks; he parked him a lot in the low block and he played more with his back to the bucket.

Seems like a bad match up for Rudy against these guys.
Gafford 14 points

Rudy. 7 points

Killed on the boards, turnover city, Kyrie looking like MJ.......yet they are right there with them.

I don't know how we were even in the game.

By the way, on half those turnovers, Dallas did nothing to cause them. Just brutally careless.

Geeze, 93 shots to the Wolves 77
Wolves had 8 more free throws
52 to 38 points in the paint favoring Dallas
20 to 10 on fast break points favoring Dallas

14-18 Mavs and we were 17-26

If we shoot better from the line and keep the turnovers to the season avg - 15, we should win.

Some of those turnovers were just being sloppy as a sailor on shore leave.

Need to do the little things right, if we wanna go further.
