All Things 2024/25 College Football Transfer Portal Thread

Kind of cryptic, not sure what to make of it.
Been a while since the Gophs have had a deep threat at WR. If Lindsay is the future, a guy who can chuck the ball a long ways, would be nice to have a deep threat who he has connected with many times in HS. Key to explosive plays—passing and running—is to stress the D by stretching the field of realistic play. Gophs we’re one of the worst in the nation in explosive plays in 2024. Even though we passed a lot, our offense is vertically challenged. Change our best?

Quinton Joyner, USC RB who had some really good performances, is in the portal. 90th ranked player in nation coming out of high school—high four star. Shifty and fast. Probably looking to move upstream, to a CFB contender—or maybe upgrade NIL money—but you never know.
We could save some money here by just giving him Jah's jerseys.

I think they could take a Safety, they’re losing Henderson and they just had a DB recruit flip elsewhere.
They’d gladly take Thieneman, but I doubt he’d come here to play a reduced role.

Interesting to see Odom flip two kids from UNLV to Purdue. Both are from Lindsey's old school. Odom's kid is one of them and took over for Lindsey at Fayetteville, AR this year.

The Winter Transfer Portal is a Black Friday sale for college football coaches.

My man named his kid Garyt.....

Insanity…
If true it's insane, but I don't believe these reports further than I can throw them. There are so many people with incentive to lie about these things and bring the players down that I don't know how anyone could look at these and not call BS.

Wow half a million guaranteed plus guaranteed to start. Not sure you believe everything but wouldn't be shocked.

He would look good with Maroon and Gold helmet block M, not Blue and Gold.
Sounds as though he is in it solely for himself. Not a team guy. Wouldn't doubt would be a toxic presence on a team of otherwise unselfish players.

Always in code. Not sure what this means.

I agree that Twitter/X is often coded gobiligook but this one feels pretty straightforward.....he is physically Here on campus for his visit.... :)

Thx. PJ needs to develop a relationship with the National Weather Service for campus visits. It's colder than a witch's t..ty today.

Yeah, unfortunately transfer portal recruiting moves so fast that you have to get guys on campus as quickly as possible.

I don't mind it though. If a kid is going to come here he has to be ready to handle the weather, if he can't then it would have been a bad fit anyway.

True. It's not much different from getting of the plane in Texas, Arizona or Florida on an August afternoon. They all give you a jolt.

My kids hate when I use that reference.
Add "It's slower than molasses in January " to your arsenal. Your kids will hate that too, which is always a plus.

Yes. I use that one, usually in reference to waiting too long for something. For descriptions of moving slow in athletics, I use the "he/she forgot to unhook the plow" reference.

"Colder than a grave diggers a$$" is a way to church it up a little.
I've liked the opposite heat reference. "Sweatin' like a whore is church"

I learned a new one today! I come to this forum for the education.
