All Things 2024-25 College Basketball Other Games Thread

There was one more on Wednesday: Columbia beat Villanova 90-80. Things have really turned since the Jay Wright days.
Yep, we're up to 4 now.

I'm tracking all non-Power 5 wins (yes, I'm including Gonzaga/WCC even through we all know Zags are basically a major) over Power 5 conferences. Plan on it being part of my weekly report through the non-conference part (November-December) of the schedule.

I look forward to that!

WTF happened in the UNC/Kansas game?

I left at half to pick up some pizzas and came back to a tied game.

Payne with 17 minutes, 8 points 6 rebounds in an Aggie rout of East Texas A&M
No Hawkins yet for Texas Tech. Sidenote: Kerwin Walton sure rediscovered his shot since relocating there. Tough to beat that .478 from behind the arc he had last year, but he's giving a good try thus far this season, 10 of 19

New Mexico leading (#22)UCLA 25-19 midway 1st half, currently on CBS sports network

St. Thomas thumps Green Bay 90-76 on the road. Tommies in control the whole way, led at one point by 24.

Tommies have less experience, but more athleticism this season. Miles Barnstable the latest Tommies D3 to D1 stud. Athletic kid, no fear, can shoot it.

Omaha has one of those "big wings" that @Sane24 has been trippin' about. Marquel Sutton is 6'7" and had 25 points in their win against Stetson. 37 minutes, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 turnover.

Auburn vs Houston is an elite basketball game

Kansas vs Unc was fun last night. But this game is better basketball across the board.

Defense. Physical. Crazy shot making. Back and forth throughout.

St. Thomas hanging with OK St 40-33 with 14;30 left in the game

On espn plus

North Florida just beat Georgia Tech 105-93 yesterday on the road and opened their season winning over South Carolina 74-71. They were picked to finish 7th in their conference. Sandwiched with a 90-66 win over Charleston Southern. A mid-major to keep an eye on potentially

They got Georgia next and still play Nebraska and Florida too

Saint Peter's, the Georgetown of Jersey City, is giving Rutgers a tight game midway through the first half.

Rutgers has a starter from Waconia, PJ Hayes, who appears to be a stretch forward. He played three years at DII Black Hills State, transferred to U of San Diego last season, and transferred to Rutgers for his 5th season.

Update: Saint Peter's leading by 5 at the half, could have been more but they made some mistakes (including a really clueless one) in the last couple of minutes.

As you may know, Rutgers recruited the #2 and #3 RSCI freshmen this season. Ace Bailey (#2) is not playing tonight. #3 Dylan Harper is and is playing well. Another freshman, Lathan Sommerville, is playing and at 6'!0" 275 is a real load inside.

Geeze, one game last year he shot 14 3's and made 9 of them!

Down 5 at half.

Seton Hall stinks but St Peters already took them down to the wire. They have a lot of returning players which helps early

Not a top 200 team though so would def be a bad loss if Rutgers doesn't get it going

Rutgers only up 1 with 6 minutes to go against St Peter's.

Pharyll Payne and Texas A&M are beating down Lamar by 17 points with 2 minutes to go in the 1st half.

Payne with 4 reb, no assists, no points halfway through the second half. A&M has 79 points though.
