All Things 2024-25 College Basketball Coach Fired/Hired/Retired Thread

Is it possible tomorrow we will not be reading about Medvev but another coach?

Here's an interesting question. Do we think Richard Pitino will be moving on to a bigger job? Could he end up at 'Nova coaching against his old man?

Me neither
Tom Kakert from the Hawkeye Report put out something about a half hour ago with an update on the coaching search, saying apparently it's not a done deal, but I don't subscribe so I can't see it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe. Not sure who Nova is looking at, but it would be interesting to see him at a bigger job.

He could also be a candidate at Xavier and end up coaching against his old man.

Or, he could attempt to take the Maryland job if Wiliard leaves for Villanova.

Lots of possible scenarios.

It was pretty clear he was going to be their coach, sometimes a little posturing at the end, nothing more. Now we just have to hope that NIL keeps them a middling B1G team and even if they’re good, they never become great!

I think DeVries will regret picking Indiana instead of Iowa.

I wondered the same. He was really a great fit at Iowa. Creighton at some point I could see also. He will have Tucker who will probably be pretty good for Indiana and can lead a team

Man I thought he could go better but either way he is good. I also think the North Texas coach will move up….next year with another good year. That group of coaches around McCasland, McCollum are solid. Even the former Wyoming coach, who is unpopular with the Wyo crowd

What happened to the Arkansas State guy? Someone cannot be trusted.

Plucking a coach out of the TV studio doesn’t work very often. Steve Lavin lets us know.
Sounds like South Florida offered him a better deal.
